I only pointed out that claiming the media is lying about conditions in China NOW with evidence from 8 months ago doesn't prove your point. I even prefaced that statement with "Not that I believe what the Chinese government officially reports about anything." But clearly I'm a Chinese apologist. It's certainly not that you're biased against both China and the media and are whining into an echo chamber where most others are as well.

You then link articles irrelevant to your original point as a "gotcha." You seem to neither be able to remember what you've posted nor read and understand what I have. I know the Chinese government and media are often FOS. But they aren't the only ones.

China: WHO experts arriving Thursday for virus origins probe

WHO just now beginning their “investigation” in Wuhan. The wet market has long been cleared out and scrubbed down. I’d suggest they go to the virology lab.

What really needs to be studied is why this virus seems to have little affect on Eastern Asian ethnicities. South Korea, Taiwan, Japan have insanely low numbers compared with the rest of the world.

As I said, take the link out of my OP and it doesn’t change the central focus. The media is pushing a narrative that originates from the Chinese propaganda machine.

Also, if things are indeed back to normal in China how would you know? The fact that the Chinese government is censoring and jailing doctors and journalists re their Covid response is nothing new, and it doesn't mean that the covid situation there is still much worse than they're letting on. Maybe it is much worse, but nothing you've provided so far proves that is currently true.

Are there dozens of articles claiming the virus is essentially irradiated from Wuhan? Yes.
Is China being truthful about their numbers? No.

Where is this information originating from?

Can the same news service produce articles that are drastically different? Yes. This is why you will read the same article repackaged over and over. Media often has to provide filler with outside sources. Does anyone really think WBIR sent a reporter to China? No, they are reprinting the story with little to know research into its veracity.

Aren't you just using your own intuition here to say that the virus hasn't been "irradiated" from Wuhan? And then criticizing the news for not doing their due diligence? All I was ever asking for was some source supporting the claim that Wuhan isn't largely back to normal now, and that there are still outbreaks there that the Chinese gov't has covered up.

I don't use my journalism degree very much, but I know enough to cite my sources.
Fact, We know China has fought the WHO getting investigators into Wuhan. Fact, we know China has arrested and disappeared journalist and doctors who were critical of China.
And yet the burden is on me? That's rich.

You've yet to provide anything other than conjecture and outdated information to support them, and your criticism for the press could easily be applied to your own assertion here. Except, I'm betting that someone from the press has actually been there recently.

Whether I believe the claims that China makes about their historical covid stats (I don't) is irrelevant as I'm not the one claiming they're currently FOS with respect to Wuhan and the media is complicit in spreading their propaganda. Presumably things in Wuhan will--now, or in the future--be back to normal. The fact that the Chinese gov't has done all those bad things in the past doesn't mean Wuhan will never return to normal. So what would you have to read to believe it is back to normal? An OANN article?

The claim I made is that our media is sharing repackaged and processed stories on Wuhan without any real proof or source data to back it up.
Thus spreading propaganda.

You pitched a fit over the relevance due to the date on the article I linked. The article I linked was written on June 8. The article looked back at cremation rates starting around January 25. The best data based on average death rates shows how many hours a day they would operate. Do the math, and it shows the date of the article has no impact on relevance. It’s absolutely relevant. The data shows China is lying, and not just a little bit. Not only was the crematory operating beyond capacity and over 200% but they set up 40 temporary sites.

So, there’s your data, which was already there if you’d simply set aside your prejudice and disdain for me and read the frigging article. What happened back in 2020 (in China) is absolutely relevant to the total death figure being claimed by China.

At this point, the crematories were found to be operating almost round the clock or at about six times normal levels. If the normal daily mortality is pegged at about 136, for this population of about 9 million, the increased hours of operation would show an excess of about 680 per day above the normal or a total of about 816 deaths a day. It is to be noted that the maximal cremation capacity is reported to be up to 2,100 bodies a day.

Additional cremation staff are reported to have been imported to Wuhan, as well as 40 mobile cremation stations, which were sent into the city from outside from February 19, 2020, to cope with the increasing need for cremation.

What about my original criticism did you not understand? This article you provided is nearly 8 months old. You're whining that the media is complicit in disseminating propaganda by saying Wuhan is back to normal. But your source is 8 ****ing months old. Which means it isnt relevant to right now.

I don't think the term "lie" even begins to cover the breadth, depth, and scope of Chinese propaganda and certainly not of the Wuhan flu. The Chinese perfected duplicity and doublespeak while the rest of the world was wearing diapers.

And as you recall, my first response was "take the reference and link out of my statement." The point I was making is that it was evidence of China LYING about Covid deaths.
The back to normal claims are also tied to the overall case and death count. The media is willingly printing articles based on information that is controlled and filtered by China. So, the article is completely relevant from that point of view. That being, China has been lying about Covid since day one.
