Just a few items from SEC hoops media days in Birmingham. Nothing earth shattering here but Martin certainly not dodging any talk about high expectations with this team. He also joked that he wasn't sure how being picked third in the league constituted 'high expectations'.
Martin had a lot of good things to say about Antonio Barton, how he was fitting in and what he brought to the table at the point guard position to this point, feels like it really has a chance to change the defensive identity of this team. Also continues to seem excited about Darius Thompson.
He called Josh Richardson maybe the most improved player on the team, had a lot of good things to say about how much improvement his made with his shot
McRae did a really good job representing, showed a really good sense of humor during his session. Without being too confrontational about it, he called Kentucky freshman Julius Randle being named SEC player of year prior to stepping on the floor in a college game 'kind of a slap in the face' to everyone in the league.
McRae also got a laugh from the media horde when he flipped around the iPad that was in propped up in front of him to reveal that Jeronne Maymon was with him via Face Time, listening to everything going on. McRae then flipped the iPad around and had Maymon take a few questions.
