wow, Holly was extremely evasive about Diamond. Sounds like we might not see Diamond for at least the first half of this season. Very disappointing

I hope it isn't for that long boxer, but you never know, they might just want her to sit out for a couple of weeks, just to be safe

No offense, but am I missing something? How in the sam hell could you possibly decipher what you just wrote from what Holly said?

None taken. Well it's hard to decipher coach speak, so I did the best I could. What I got from her media session interview is that Diamond has a long way to go before she is ready to play in a NCAA game. Maybe you saw something differently. I hope I'm wrong. She isn't even cleared for full contact yet.

i do hate all the coach speak, a lot of times I watch and think what the hell was all that,CBJ is the worst or best at coach speak, according to how you look at it

and CHW is pretty good at it too and it is hard as hell to find out anything about the Womens game

Holly says she is doing half court work...no full court. I'm beginning to wonder if she will be completely healthy at any point this season...and that would be a bummer!:ermm:

Diamond stated that she would be ready for the first game. idk y we can never get a straight forward answer when our players are hurt.

Diamond's injuries are the type that need rest. She tried out and made a national team, I think that speaks volumes as too her basketball shape. I think we will just give her as much down time as we can to keep her in shape, no need to play exhibition games, and she will play when season is here. We also don't need teams knowing just how she is doing, there are those Doris Burke types that want a team to go after a players injuries. I think Holly is over injuries, and having to play short handed, and she is being very cautious with it.

Speculation here, but if Diamond has not been cleared for full court play that likely means her shin splints or tendonitis, whichever it is, is still bothering her and she is unable to run full court on the hardwood or she's unable to run at all. That's not a good sign but the question is when did she incur this injury and how far along is she in her rest and rehab. If this is an injury that is a holdover from her North Carolina days then she's 19 months into it and she should be rested and ready to go. If this is an injury that just occurred in the last few months she may have a while to go before she is able to go full court.

I wonder if she feels like she is ready but hasn't been cleared by the doctors for full contact yet. Could be a liability issue for the university.

I think Diamond is ready is she says she's ready then she's ready... Hopefully she is but I feel that we do have a deep enough talent pool to pull off wins if she's out the first couple of games... I think that some LV fans are being very dramatic lol and we'll just see how things play out so lets go Lady Vols

Ideally the most informative information on the LVs or any team would be the scouting report of a formative opponent who they were or had played. And how the assessed the strengths and weaknesses of individual players.

There are many LVs who have had shin splints and knees in various stages of wear and tear -

Do you remember ole timers when Kelly Jolly was 'hurt' during NCAA tourney in game one and we wondered if she would even dress for the game two days later. And she never left the training room and (we never in those 48 hours) got a straight answer.

From the day Diamond was on campus reporters asked about the injuries that needed heeling (pun intended) and she never gave a straight answer.

Coach has stated earlier that Diamond was agreeable about her not playing in the summer tourney. And Coach on this video said she was not going to playing in the exhibition. NO is a straight answer.

The medical staff has told me 3-4 weeks. the medical staff makes the decision on when a player with a broken hand is ready to play. that is to me a straight answer.

I'm pretty sure your comment about Burke is stupid, not to mention the fact that nobody can "go after" a player with shin splits. How would they do that?
