Medical redshirt possible for Jones?

I think Holly appears to be a worse coach than she actually is, just because she is not very articulate in interviews. She'd look like a better coach if she could improve her public speaking skills.

So true she fumbles more than DeMarco Murray with her explanations. I hope she does better when she talks to recruits, because during interviews she almost seems insecure. She has gotten better, but she has to quit her imitation of Stevie Wonder with her head moving all over the place.

You can't really pick out a game and say she is not going to play a lot at Tennessee. She is averaging 27.3 ppg and 42 percent from the three. Through all games 52 percent from the field so she is making shots in a lot of the games. I like Reynolds but we can differ in opinions as to how much Cooper will play when she gets here. She will get all of Massengale's minutes and she is getting 27 to Reynolds 25. Deshields will get Burdick's minutes. Russell will get Harrison's minutes. No way those three don't play a lot of minutes we have no one on the bench that can take those minutes the bench players we have will continue to be bench players.
Not the only game I've seen. It's just the last one.

I hope the lady vols start to use the red-shirt year as a recruiting tool. But we do expect those players to be in-shape and better players than when we last saw em. A years to work on ya game, let yo body rest. Sounds good especially in Knoxville with all the amenities.

Nared will play a lot next year, could be a starter if we go with a big lineup (one guard) or, more likely, first off the bench.

Jasmine has played only 7 games. If she doesn't play tonight, then she is eligible for medical red shirt.

We are a much better team defensively and we rebound better with her in the lineup. For the tournament, our odds are better with her than without.

But.... she has also played only 7 games. Girl will be out of sync. So how much help will she really provided.

As far as Jannah, she has a bright future, staff knows it, she knows it. Coming out of high school they said she was an all out shooter and can score. Looking at the future, teams are going to be doubling Diamond and she will attract a lot of attention, you are going to need shooters who can put up and post that can rebound. I see Jannah fitting in the shooting role nicely. She has lost a lot of speed/stamina from sitting out, that is being worked on.

That is exciting about jannah. She's really one I'm interested in seeing more of..any chance she could get a medical redshirt?? Would be nice to have her for her full four years

For what? She has been cleared to play most of the season. Plus she already used a medical redshirt last year, it's very rare to be granted a second...

They didn't use the medical redshirt for tucker last year, they just redshirted her. They can still apply for a medical redshirt if she has played in less than 30 percent of the season games, at least that's how I understand it to be. If that's wrong, someone correct me. The for what would be if she still is having issues with her knee that we don't know about and the staff hasn't reported on

Jones needs to improve her offense and decision making, and so does Graves. It hurts us that we have two good 6'2" athletes, but their offensive games are really below average. Graves has no idea how to score in the paint except for putting in an offensive rebound. Lockwood should be drilling her daily about making quick moves when she gets the ball inside.

Those 2 have the worst basketball IQ. I hope they will start telling Graves to shoot every time she is open at the high post.

I hope they start telling Graves to stop checking the air in the ball and keep it higher on putbacks.

Were you around her freshman year? Bash is the same player that year, she's just extended her range. This notion she has no idea how to score is a little over the top. She's a faceup type post player...this year she's added the mid range jumper. I do agree she needs to be more aggressive to complement Izzy on the inside. I've watched this girl play since her Jr year in high school...no way can someone say she has NO idea how to score in the post. It was evident last year in the GT game and this year in the ND game she can score without rebounds. The only thing Bash needs to work on is her aggressive IMO

Bashaara has no hops and has no length. Her wingspan seems signicantly smaller than other players her height. She plays more like a 5'10 post than a 6'2 post because of that. She can't go over most defenders, so she has to go around them. Combined with her lack of leaping ability, that really limits her options when the paint gets crowded.

She needs to shoot the midrange jumper more regularly to pull her defender out of the paint and give her the option to attack of the dribble.

Best statement ever made about Graves:

She needs to shoot the midrange jumper more regularly to pull her defender out of the paint and give her the option to attack of the dribble.

I don't think its Bash at all her high scoring games came when teams are playing man or a match up zone. She does seem to work better with Izzy out not that she doesn't work well with Izzy it's just spacing wise the paint is open more. If you noticed she's been getting a couple of assists a game. Not to mention she works well with the high low.
