I realize that WNBA numbers may help recruiting, but I don't really care how they do after they leave UT. I want college players that win!....for us.

I do wonder (although I probably won't watch much) how Diamond will do with another coach. She she is very athletic and talented, but not sure how much of an asset she was for us.

MY priority is UT, if that is influenced by the WNBA, then I am for that.........!!!

I love Women's Basketball, because it is still a TEAM sport, but I mostly am focused on the UT Lady VOLS

So actual current college teams with # of wnba players in order:
UCONN - 14
Maryland - 8
Rutgers - 7
Duke - 7
Notre Dame - 5
UNC - 5
Tennessee - 4 (was at 5 before yesterday, and at 6 -Burdick - before 2 weeks ago)
Baylor - 4
Standford - 4
Rest are all 3 or less

So at the start of the season only 4 other school's had more, it's unfortunate with Simmons and Burdick, but both could be picked up by someone else. We will see, but it doesn't look like our 4 players puts us at the bottom at all, but actually looking at the numbers, Tennessee is still relevant school in the WNBA.
(for the future, Diamond, Nared and Russell will all be in the WNBA next year) I can't think of any other D1 school that will have 3 players drafted in the 1st round right now???

Are you referring to this past draft where USC had Coates, Davis, & Gray drafted in the first round or the one before that when UC had Stewart, Jefferson, & Tuck go 1,2,&3?

I'm talking about next year's draft. No team comes to my mind right now that will be putting 3 players in the first round. I was trying to not make it as a statement, but rather an open ended one to have feedback on if someone knows a team that could have 3 players potential first round?

Tennessee won't either because Diamond won't be on the team this coming season. The team on the court will be playing with two possible first round picks (Mercedes is likely a lock; Jaime will have some work to do).

Awww, I really hate to hear this. Hope Meighan can latch on somewhere else.

Meighan was disposable once Sykes started getting hot. Sykes is a better version of Simmons in all facets of the game, and she was projected as a reserve.

Diamond graduated from the university of Tennessee and is the last team she played with, So the college next to diamonds name will be Tennessee in the WNBA. Ephinany Prince plays with the Liberty, on the roster it has Rutgers next to her name even though she left. Diamond will have Tennessee on her name when in the WNBA.

I don't disagree that Diamond will represent the LVs once she joins the WNBA. I'm disputing that this coming season Tennessee will have 3 potential first round draft picks because one of those players has already left the team.

The University may have 3 picks, but the team does not.
