I actually like him better after that interview. I'm am freaking tired of hearing his name but he is impressive.

I dunno. Kiper was interesting a few years ago. Now he's just kind of full of himself. He IS right a lot of the time, admittedly.

it sounded to me like Kiper was trying his best not to offend mr. tebow. but at least he did finally get down to brass tacs about what he would be best at in the league.

he won't translate well to the NFL, not as a qb anyway.

tebow basically asked Kiper what do you think i need to do to make it in the NFL as a quarterback........and after what sounded to me like a little bit of dodging the question (he harkend back to when people thought Leaf was better than Manning etc....) he finally broke it down and said he'd be a better version of Frank Wycheck or Chris Cooley. which at the end of hte day was honest, but it did feel a little uncomfortable there for a second.........

and of course Tebow retorted with some line about how he needed to have the ball in his hands every play.......

much about nothing really, just the fact they were talking to each other and kIper was fielding quetions from the prospect was intriguing........

Saying Tebow will be a better version of Frank Wycheck and Chris Cooley is reaching.

Exactly. Everyone keeps says no QB in NFL, which I agree, but what suddently makes me a NFL calibur TE. To my recall he has never caught a pass or had to block anyone. Not saying it couldnt be done, but why would a team want to draft someone that is untested.

kiper's point was "do what you do best" and that's carrying the ball......and given his physical nature, those are type of guys he compared him to.

i don't think he was saying he's currenlty as good a pass receiver as either of those guys, rather he fits the physical mode those type of gusy fill for their respective teams.

I didn't hear it so I was just going off of what I read. You probably have a better idea of where he was going with it.

I listened to it. Tebow couldn't fathom the guy asking a legitimate question about his ability. He totally thought it was joke. That's my perception anyway.

I think that Kiper seemed more flustered. He danced all around trying to make a point and was not very successful. Tebow was clear/concise and quickly shot Kiper's point down.

Now go Pro Tebow!

Kiper sucks and is never right. His Mock drafts are never on point. Tebow will be drafted 3rd or 4th round. Teams will work him out as a TE/HB. He may have success as a pass catching TE and may play some QB in a wild cat type formation. I do not think he will ever play in a pro bowl.

Funny that you say Kiper is never right, yet then agree with him at where Tebow will play. Also I would like to see you point out someone who is consistently more accurate with draft boards than kiper.

Matt Jones an Arkansas QB was converted into a WR/TE...might be a bad comparison but it can happens I guess. I'd forsee Tebow converted into a H back type FB before a TE.

Mel Kiper has bad hair...But the man knows his stuff especially when it comes to predicting what every team in the NFL will do on draft day. I think he is right much, much more than he is wrong.

That interview was apparently taped the night of the Hypesman presentation. I don't think Kiper wanted to get into a contentious argument with one of the nominees shortly before the hoopla was to begin.
