The girls were ready. They had that win, nj.
At minimum, they had overtime.

Kinda hard to get a message to anyone during the game.
{I could sit closer},,,I know I was full of active-advice from my immediate perch. . . . Don't think she could hear me though.

Coach , if Holly has to listen to outside coaching beside what's on the bench, then what the posters on this board is saying is truth....
She can't coach.
What I don't understand is why are you in the presser talking about offensive rebounds when your team is failing to score.
Rebounds doesn't win games, points win games.

I do believe a change is needed even though Holly cant go out there and make open shots for them. The hustle in the 4th Qt was bad. The one Texas AM girl who hurt her ankle wanted it more than our girls. Easy to see. I believe for any other reason than the pressure on Holly and these girls are to much and will be the same next year. I will continue to root for the girls and Holly they are my team and I hope they can find IT this year.

Well no change is happening until a new AD is in place. And even then, they will probably drag their feet.

I don't know about her coaching ability but for sure she is not ready for prime time in the interviews. She should not talk to the press at all, let the assistant coaches do the interviews. I have never seen a coach say "I don't know" so many times in a press conference.

Are you really going to slam on MR because she appeared to get poked in the eye on that last play? Without her 17 pts, 13 rbds and stifling defense on Hillsman, the game wouldn't have come down to the last play.

Drive-by posters always show up after losses. Indeed, the player who has carried the team the whole season should not be on the team because she got poked in the eye.

I really need to stay away from this place after losses.

Why are you being so kind?. I can't find a word to describe her. If there are any Holly supporters out there then I think they are as clueless as she is. Early shots, quick shots to end quarters, standing around on offense, and no discipline on the defensive end to get a rebound, still she does nothing but give a quick pat on the sideline. The worse coach in the SEC and maybe the entire country. I just don't understand how the University allows this to happen. They can certainly see what is happening to what once was the most feared team in Women's basketball. You think it can't get worse, then listen to her interview after the game. I have seen middle school students that can speak better that she does. This ranks right up there with Dooley in Football as the worse hire in my 30 years of following the Lady Vols

Shocking thing about Holly is that she served a legendary coach but never learned anything. She was handed a multi/ high profile program that already got starts in it be4 she took over. I would've understood if she had started from scratch, but no she started from top and kept bringing the program down each yr,while some kept saying it will be better. Thank God Geno never agreed to play us, it would've been a disgrace.

As soon as pat left coaching,Geno ran far away every other coaches and never looked bk.

I disagree with that. Every perimeter player we have coming in next year is better than Middleton, Meme (who shouldn't even be on this team) and Reynolds.

You are correct Volman, but can they be coached properly? Any coach can get the best players in the world but if u "can't coach u can't coach", simple as that!

I will never blame any player at all because great coaches should wake a player up that's why she's paid big cash for nothing.

MR got hit in the face on the last play. What alternate reality is this where a player is expected to ignore that and not be fazed for a few seconds. Her face isn't made of iron.

Their offensive rebounds was the key,,, but only in the last four minutes.
They had four OR's on the last two possessions. It was an offensive rebound that won the game for TAMU.

So if you are looking for the "last straw to blame" yes, OR's are the culprit.

++++++++++

I have coached for over 36 years. I still appreciate the "fan" who tells me from the crowd. "Coach, #11 has four fouls" or, "Hey coach, you have four fouls to give"... Of course, it is up to me to decide if it is good or bad advice or info. However, I expect such wisdom's to come from my staff tho.

You can't make an Alpha out of a Beta.
She has to hire an Alpha.

Actually, it was after Candace and company left, that Geno ran away from everyone else, though Mulkey/Griner stayed close.

no we need and can get Vic Schaefer.

Victoria Schaefer's cool & all but he's only made it as far as the sweet 16 & that was once. You wanna contend with Geno year in & year out & return the Lady Vols Program back to its rightful spot atop of women's college basketball then we GO GET DAWN.
Her coaching expertise & ability to motivate her players coupled with the resources available at Tennessee is a match made in heaven so to speak. We're gonna **** around & miss out on a Gem waiting around for pressure to create one.

It's pretty apparent that this team needs an "alpha" personality coach that can coach with a staff that can coach.

CHW was good cop to Pat's bad cop for all of these years just like Geno's lead assistant for years is to him. Good cops don't make great hc's.

I've said this before and I will beat this dead horse into the ground.... This team has no identity. They don't have that thing that they do very well and you can't stop it but only slow it down. UConn has it. Run basic stuff and out work you doing it. Now 99 wins later, they are about to get to 100 tonight doing running basic stuff at a higher level than anybody else. Geno has gone on record saying that coaches are free to watch their practices because they run basic stuff. Nothing tricky or fancy.

This team has too much talent to be playing this bad and predictable. I saw a video on Instagram that was a clip of Nared as a kid and how she was so good that she had to play in the boys leagues up through Middle School. Doesn't seem like that trajectory has gotten too much higher. She has the skills to be better than what she is but I think the lack of identity for this team and overall lack of coaching is hurting her as well as the rest of the squad.

Coaches have to coach, establish an identity and make the right adjustments when needed. I don't see that from this staff....
