I have never understood why they just don't wear ankle braces.

I always did in high school. I could just be walking and roll my ankle, my ligaments were just that stretched. Never made sense to me why most athletes don't wear them. It's not like you lose a ton of flexibility with the better ankle braces

Most of the guys are taped, but that can only do so much. I was a student trainer at UT, and I remember the the LV always had to be taped and braced. The braces have come a long way in terms of protection and even comfort.

The braces I make my athletes use are made by a German company that had a unique design. The brace is molded to the athletes foot. It functions by allowing natural motions, while preventing unnatural motions. Its actually thin and lightweight, so in essence, the layers could wear them between layers of socks and it would hardly be noticeable at all. In over 5 years I have had one kid get hurt while wearing these.
