Neither player was great from the 3pt line but Kortney was even worse than meme last season. When she did get in she missed a lot of open 3s. Why start some1 that hasn't earned it. I think I know why a few people has come up with this idiotic thought. But I would so like to be wrong on this 1.

i agree wth you dunbar adds nothing

LV fans wanting proof of Kortney's capabilities? If she was coached by anyone else Kortney would be mentioned glowingly. Kortney is going to end up just like Nia Moore but I seriously hope not because that will probably mean the Lady Vols will have yet another season of despair. Btw Alexa Middleton was smart to transfer.

Kortney despite your naysayers you do have fans that like your game you are worthy of being a Lady Vol and it's not your fault. I enjoy your game. Thank you!

Even God can't rebound from the bench seats. Kortney can rebound just fine when she is playing and has very good hands and the strength to make the outlet pass after getting the rebound. Go back and watch the tape when she was in the game.

With Holly pulling her after 30 seconds on the court like she always did, Dunbar was wasted last year.

It's players like Kortney and Nia who suffer because Tennessee lacks the ability to treat cupcakes the way that Baylor treated Winthrop last season. They let these weak teams hang with them for far too long and rely on 30+ minutes from their starters. If they played with more urgency, then I have no doubt Kortney would have been able to be further along as a senior than she is now.

KD was hurt all last season. She couldn't play much more than she did. She was in the training room all last year & had off-season surgery.

KD said in the paper just yesterday that SHE has neglected practicing as she should.

OR you could just blame the coach. Again.

Even in a good year to see many minutes, she is going to have to shoot 35-40% from three, and work harder on her lateral movement, and defending without fouling.

Last couple of years, we struggled in some easier games, so KD didn't get the luxury of playing relaxed and up 20. Not her fault, but added to the struggle for her playing time.

I think KD has kept a great attitude, and I would like to see her play.

I hadn't read your post yet, Amb. But I agree it's definitely had an effect on nonstarter minutes.

.....With Holly pulling her after 30 seconds on the court like she always did, Dunbar was wasted last year.

That's the key, gule.

If you put someone in a position of "save us" only...And then pull them out if they don't, they never have the ability to get into a rhythm...You hear athletes say it over and again, "I just want to go out there and enjoy the game and do what I do"

Difficult to do if your only reason to be put out there is to be a hero-or-goat.

Didn't you used to have a donkey as an Avatar?

Yes, and she was not the only player layups.

If we go back and look, a few of those losses would have been wins if layups were made.

I hope she has learned how to make fast break lay ups! She blew several attempts. 😁

I know that Meme has worked on her game and been assisted in doing so this summer...She will be one of the more improved players this year.

...May not start from the gitgo, as the rooks are formidable and focused , but when she gets on the floor, the off-season commitment and work will be apparent,

That's good news! Can't wait to see MeMe in action. She got the handles to be a great player. Wishing her and the team much success.

I'm think we'll see Russell, Nared, Green, Jackson, and Westbrooks when the exhibition rolls around on November 7th. They could possibly go with Davis over Green but I think that holly will let most of the freshmen come off the bench in this game.

5 x 40 = 200 minutes and ideally the key players average just under 30 minutes. Assume 7 players average 25 minutes. remaining 25 minutes for 3 players.

Can a player who averages 5-8 minutes ever get a rhythm? knowing their role? Not always about not making a mistake or missing a shot - just the reality of not being as good as a player who is getting a rest.

I figure we'll eventually end up playing about 8 in SEC. In most of these early games where we are huge favorites expect that the coaches will determine who is not going to be in the rotation come SEC play or against Nationally ranked opponents. Last year it was mostly Dunbar and Harris.

I believe we will be stronger through 7 than we were last year. I hope we have guards and wings not afraid of shooting/making and opening up the middle. If that happens, we will be a tough out. If not, we will continue to have to force the ball inside. It will take a few games to gel so I don 't expect CN will tell us a whole lot.
