Memo to Boise State

If Tennessee had orange turf you guys would be drooling all over it.
I do admit Boise State should have to play in the whites when they play at home.

Since most teams have green fields, should teams with green uni's have to play in just jocks and pads?

When people say you are a joke, they aren't referring to the talent of your players or coaching staff; they are referring to the fact you play on a blue field, you are in the WAC, you play on Tuesdays, you can't sell out your small stadium when you are 3rd in the nation, and a degree from your school is a glorified associates degree.

Might be off topic, but there's not much fun to talk about on Rocky Top.
Really? How would you compare their coaching staff to ours?

No on part 1.

Perhaps on part 2. Though the guy hiding on the field was funny.

About the same, considering we have one of their former coaches. We just play in an exponentially tougher league. I just dont see this team as being any better, but actually worse, than lots of top teams from AQ conferences. Right place, right schedule, and you too and go undefeated.
+1 on they should wear white at home. You can even seem em! That's got to be a competitive edge.

If wearing blue uni's on a blue field makes it harder for opposing QBs to see defenders, doesn't it also make it harder for BSU's QBs to find their receivers?

No, we are talking about peripheral vision which has nothing to do with seeing down field. It makes it much harder to see the rush coming from either side when the qb drops back.

So the same effect with green uniforms on a green field?

no, because our eyes can process green better. it's not as intense on the eyes. watching a boise game for any length of time gives one a headache. no wonder they cant fill the seats.

I have no problem watching their home games. The orange in the end zones is brighter and stands out more than the blue. I also have a feeling that because this was a Tuesday night game, people decided to stay home because they had things to do the next day like work. All I really see here is a bunch of people going after a team that could play circles around us at the moment.

if you look at my OP you will see my arguement. they don't deserve to play for a national title. yea, so they could play circles around us, but they would still be in the bottom 1/2 of the SEC along with us.

Source? I'm not saying you're lying, but I'm not an optometrist and suspect you may not be either. If you are, I apologize.

Blue is shortest wavelength, and the amount of blue can have a "drowning out" affect on everything else because it's taking up so many cone and rod cells in your eyes that it's hard to define shapes on a bright blue background. Im basing this on the fact it burns my retinas and it should be illegal. Grass is green, you play football on grass. This isn't Avatar.

On their wikipedia page it says it was added for "better visibility" like blue tennis courts. Well guess what, if you put a blue man on a blue background, it's harder to see. Therefore i think it's an unfair competitive advantage.

Blue on blue is harder to see, but green on green isn't? More BS.

Again, I don't think your making up the color reasoning. I just wanna know where you get your info. Here's what their Wiki page actually says about the turf.
Link? Here's what I found using your source - "After 16 seasons of playing on standard green AstroTurf, BSU Athletic Director Gene Blaymeier came up with the idea to install the blue turf. He decided that, if BSU was going to spend $750,000 on a new surface, he didn't want to see BSU install yet another green field, and that a blue field might provide the school some notoriety. Blaymeier gained the support of BSU President John Keiser, and in 1986 Bronco Stadium introduced its unique playing surface to the world."

Feel free to correct me if I'm missing something on the source page you provided.

I think it was answers.com. I can't find it again, but I will keep looking. I never claimed to be an expert on eyes, but I don't know any FBS teams with "Kentucky Bluegrass #31" as their jersey colors. Grass is green, but it's many different shades of green. Boise's unis and their playing surface are the same shade of blue.

merge-alicious.

Ya ya, I get. Most SEC fans are football snobs who think only traditional powers should be given a chance.

Perfect reason for a playoff system. Then the blue can go down in flames after a cushy season of powder puffs and one hard game.
