Where is Crump stadium? Never heard of that one

Next to Central High School and across from Methodist Hospital. It was renovated a couple years ago to make it into a smaller high school stadium. Memphis played there until the Liberty Bowl was finished, and I'm pretty sure Tennessee used to play Arkansas there.

I think you meant to ask why we'd recruit in Africa.

seriously?

Thanks! Yes, I have seen that place. Didn't know the name of it.

They might as well kill the football program and be a basketball only school.

There is a minimum attendance average is 15,000 people per game for Division 1 teams. Hopefully the NCAA will enforce this and soon demote Memphis.

Why all the hate on Memphis as a city? I was fortunate enough to work in Memphis for two years (music and video industry) and absolutely loved it. Memphis has a rich history, some great landmarks and a fun nightlife. TIFWIW, but I would rather spend a weekend in Memphis than Nashville. As for sports, nahh, Memphis is not the place to go. But for a fun time and GREAT food, it's hard to beat Memphis.

My personal experience was that I NEVER felt safe in that city. Honestly had bars on the windows and felt it wasn't enough. Multiple break ins to my truck over a four year period (in broad daylight in a crowded area). Can't fill up with gas without getting hassled for a free hand out. One of the highest violent crime rates in the nation claims this town. Nightlife is fun for sure. Made some great friends in Memphis, but I could not wait to get out. The race on race hatred in that town was palpable going both ways, and I wanted no part of it. Glad to be back in East TN. As far as I'm concerned, Mississippi or Arkansas can have it.

Sounds like you were hanging out in the wrong part of town. I lived in the Memphis area for 17 years and never felt unsafe.

Go get lost in Orange Mound and tell me how much you love it.

I felt no such thing. I was there multiple times and never felt anything remotely bad.

I lived mid-town, downtown, and the island. I heard gunshots in the distance multiple times at all locales. I don't know how you can have that, break-ins, and friends who are getting mugged at school and not feel unsafe. Just my experience, though.
