Why would you leave Tennessee for Memphis if you're playing in a larger conference and have better facilities (22,000 seat arena and brand new practice facility)?
Aside from money, I don't see a whole lot of incentive otherwise. If you blame it on the fan base you're nuts, because the memphis basketball fan base was nothing before cal
Memphis has good facilities too playing in FedEx Forum. They also can throw some serious cash and offer the opportunity for Pearl to achieve the God-like status that Cal enjoyed while being there. No football there.
I knew the fedex forum thing would be a thought, but I still think our overall facilities are better
The Pratt Pavilion is nicer than the Finch Center.No. UM has first class facilities.
You ask why Pearl would consider Memphis? Think of it this way - the last coach at Memphis played in a title game and is now has the sweetest basketball contract in the world outside of Phil Jackson and maybe K.
The last three coaches at UT aren't even coaching now.
Yeah, but how are the three full time coaches that preceeded Cal doing? No. UM has first class facilities.
