Doesn't matter to me as long as they stay out of the SEC. WE don't need to add another weak program like Vandy or Kentucky.

It would make for a "MAD" basketball conference. It would also do more for us with them on the schedule as a member of the Big East than CUSA

They'll never amount to anything with their football program but it would be a huge step in the right direction.

Good luck to them

I have also heard Paul Tudor is throwing around his weight (money) as well. He is worth 3 times what Fred is worth.

That is interesting. According to Forbes he has a net worth of $6B+.

If you put Smith and Tudor together, they will buy their way into a conference. That is a powerful pair.

So why don't they use that money to make Memphis' football program not a joke.

Maybe that's their plan. It could be that they are trying to get into a stronger football conference so that their program can become stronger and get better recruits.

They said on the news tonight a spokeswoman for FedEx said this is all bs.

Yeah but the athletic director, RJ, was joking around with reporters today about hanging in the FedEx tent at the St. Jude classic, saying FS and AG weren't there but were off on an important mission for UM.

U obviously have no clue what these two programs mean for the SEC. This is one of the stupidest statements I have heard from a fan in the SEC.

Enlighten us then. I've been a follower of the SEC for over 30 years now, and I can't say I see any strong benefit to the SEC from these two programs other than adding historic tradition to the SEC as being original members.

Kentucky has a number of national championship basketball trophies in their trophy case.

And apparently you haven't paid much attention in those 30 years.

Two likely wins to help UT become bowl eligible come to mind as their greatest contributions. That's enough for me.
