Wow that was a terrible punt return by Memphis. Not only did the returner run backwards like 10 yards, they got a targeting penalty and will be pushed back 15 yards. Should have had the ball in USF territory.

These targeting calls are getting a little out of control. There should be some intent requirement or something. That guy clearly lead with his shoulder. The helmets touched, and the ref made the right call. But the rule needs some word. Especially since it comes with an ejection.

They need to drop the automatic ejection part. That's overkill.

Yea I would certainly think they would. But honestly USF defense isn't horrible. They held FSU to 7 points in the first half also.

Memphis defense looked much better in 2nd half. They just lost too much on defense to compete with an Ole Miss though, imo. There's not a lot of teams in the country that could really.
