Glad he's practicing in his free time instead of Palardying like a rockstar. In all seriousness, I've been hard on him but I hope he has a breakout season. New staff and a HC that actually cares about the players could be all he needed.

You think he caught hell? You remember that navy seal kicker we had?
You should have asked him if you could edge rush some of his kicks to see if you could block them.

True but Palardy had so much hype coming outta HS and hasn't lived up yet. May be wrong but don't think Lincoln was that touted coming outta HS.

From 1991 through 2006 UT had very good kickers (Becksvoort, Hall, Walls, & Wilhoit). All but Walls were from Tennessee. Lincoln and Palardy are from FL....NO MORE FL KICKERS! I know the Reviez brothers were from FL but that was back in the 80's...that statute ran out.

Problem solved.

Palardy has an amazing leg... but I hope he can become a little more clutch. We are going to need him a lot this year I think.

i know i could catch alot of heat for this from some of my fellow vols on here but today i ran into palardy practicing fieldgoals at the park i work. hes home for break in south florida, his local town of coral springs at one of the parks i work at. i cruised up on the field in my work truck getting ready to tell whoever it was they had to head to there vehicles because of lighting in the area and when i got close i saw the power T shorts and orange cleats..he noticed my camo tennessee hat and we got to talking turned out he and i had known alot of people in common from local area and he was literally so cool and down to earth, its funny hearing that east tenn accent on a south florida boy but you all have def worn off on him. asked him some questions on how the team was feeling about the new coaching staff and he said in his time with the team since kiffin recruited him this coaching staff seams all in it together and really care about the players. im sure most of you are gunna ask me this so il say it....i asked him to kick a few more for me so i could watch and he hit 5 of 6 for 50 yds plus he stopped kicking after he missed the last one but man he was booming them its really amazing when u stand close to them how loud the thump is when they connect. i know he catches alot of heat from vol fans and im sure he knows this too but it was great getting to see a current vol in my park....what a great day!:)

Cool story. Does the South Florida Vol group still get together at Shennigans in Hollywood for games??? Do you know

Speaking of kickers, I noticed that Matt darr hasn't been mentioned in a long time. Does anyone know what's going on with him?

Surely I can't be the only one who thought, "you never end on a miss."

I hope this is the year he reaches his potential. He's crazy good in warm-ups. Just has to translate that to gametime.

Can't be easy being the kicker.

I think Adam Sandler said it best in his 90's song the Lonesome Kicker.

..."so screw the kicker, who cares about the kicker?"
so I kick that ball and I pray that it goes straight, if it does the coach says good job number 8. He doesn't even know my name is andre holfszquientleacswzy jr.

How fast was the wind behind him? 25-30mph? Was he using an NCAA ball or one of his fat, plump, broken-in HS balls? :banghead2:

Maybe it was one of the old fields where the goal posts are on the goal line? :eek:hmy:

Something's not kosher here?

Maybe Palardy got baptized? :yahoo:

About 10-15 mph cross wind west to east

They were tennessee balls saw the power T

Regulation goalposts little rusty but standing straight.

Not sure about the baptism

I'm not sure. If my memory serves me right, his number was 5 last year, and he lost that to Bullock? Wearing 43 this year I think. I don't know what the hell thats all about. Maybe I'm coo coo...

I hear Palardy is a down to earth guy. I wish him the best, but he's not going to have a breakout year. Guys had his issues throughout his span here and I don't see anything changing.

You'd be surprised a what having a coach that displays confidence in you can do for your ability to perform. Not saying I disagree with you, but you never know!
