On Friday, redshirt senior linebacker Lorenzo McCaskill announced on Twitter his decision to put his name in the portal.

McCaskill was the team’s leading tackler in 2021, totaling 84 tackles. He recorded three tackles for loss, with one fumble recovery.


The Detroit native already has offers from Mizzou, USC, and Miami (Ohio).

Not to me, that's his new employer. Heupel is too nice of a guy, should've done the same last yr. That is if he wanted any of them.

Florida probably. Napier been taking his best Louisiana players with him to Florida. Being a Detroit native though gives some hope Banks has some of the pull still

Coordinator don’t get as heavy in the weeds as assistants so those are the ones you hear about most with kids. I’m sure he had a hand in all of the defensive recruits at some point if we got deep stages with anyone.

i dont know their situation but alot of these teams like S. Carolina are just taking all these transfers and then cutting guys later pretty much. S. Carolina is at like 98 scholarship guys and at some point have to get down to 85. So its all fun now but thats gonna be an interesting time here soon.

The S.Carolina way is interesting one. Not sure you want to make a habit of that but he is clearly trying to strike now while iron is hot to avoid being exposed as a fraud next year. Add enough good players it may end up hiding how bad his OC is. DC a different story. We smoked him but overall that DC is a rising star in the business

i agree


it could really go the other way on them in the coming months.

Im sure they arent the only ones doing this. The portal will be full again in the spring though to be sure.
