It said he could possibly die, maybe worse developments since?

Still its a shame a simple birthday party couldnt go o without violence, and my thoughts go to the victims.

When I lived in Memphis two years ago they had the highest murder rate in the country. It was a running joke with the morning crew in August when they went over the 200 mark for the year. Some of that was due to the influx of Katrina Victims. That is one of the reasons I moved back to Knoxville, and can honestly say that Memphis is the brown eye of the state.:hi:

one city that is surprisingly really bad is Richmond. I lived and worked there for 6 months and the crime rate there per capita was ridiculously high

I have a friend that is from there. He said there is so much drug trafficking between Miami and New york that it is a natural stop over. They seem to have a gang problem because of that.

The different gangs (global traffickers) have different routes and hubs they control. I'm not sure about Richmond but the biggest hub now is Atlanta, the amount of drugs run through that city is astounding. The fact that the city is stretched out through so many counties makes it difficult for the police to keep tabs on the runners and gang activity.

Although the drug trafficking in Atlanta is mainly run by the Mexican cartels/gangs other cities are run by other factions, gangs and cartels. Nashville is an important hub on the same route as well. Richmond seems a natural cog in the wheel given its location.

I have done the same with kids out of Walter P and Austin Homes and it is crazy. Its like a whole different world on the east side of James White Parkway.

Miami, like Atlanta, has its crazy sections. Mike Parady goes to school in Dade County, too, but Booker T. is a LOOOOONG way from St. Thomas Aquinas.

A billion-dollar illicit industry can't help but touch everyone in some way. Its a dadgum shame that this kid got caught in the crossfire. Same thing happened to a kid at Booker T. Washington here in ATL a couple of years ago. What a bunch of foolishness.
