Miami vs Duke

Duke QB did not get the ball across the goal line at all. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

cant believe they missed that block in the back.

EDIT: oh, they reviewed that? Damn, it looked blatant.

It's possible I guess they huddled and decided there was no block in the back independently of the review.

I mean, credit Miami for that play, but block in the back is not listed as reviewable. So Miami should have had to run a play from roughly the Duke 45.

Just spoke to @FOXSports Ref expert Mike Pereira on #Miami finish. He said anything that is an "egregious error" is reviewable/over-turnable

Not sure if this applies here though.

Actually no. Offense doesn't get the benefit of running a play after a penalty on them with no time left. Game would have been over had they upheld the penalty.

Those refs one-upped the targeting moron from the UT game. Normally I would think it's hilarious but I hate to see this happen to Cut.

It was confused. I like how, after a few minutes of review, the official started to announce that the runner wasn't down, then stopped for them to review for a few more minutes.

Not true. The whole "game can't end on a defensive penalty" thing is a myth. The game can't end on ANY penalty. But there are very few situations where an offensive penalty would be accepted at the end of a game. Tonight was one of them.

That confused me too; why would Miami get an untimed down when they committed the penalty?

Edit: BW answered it.
