No they didn't, they were there for almost every game...Only games they didn't pack the place for were against the small schools like fcs schools...Other than that the orange bowl was pretty electric during those days.
83,87,89,91......NC’s during their heyday.

81-91.......75,000 capacity in the Orange Bowl

83 avg att. 44,555
87 avg att. 53,920
89 avg att. 51,634
91 avg att. 57,964

Hardly a stellar endorsement!!!!

You have to remember that Miami is a very small private school...they don't even own their own stadium down here and honestly do not have a lot of alumni that follow the Canes religiously...Almost the entire population here is from somewhere else, New York, Chicago etc so there aren't that many Canes fans here...Every game I went to in the 90's and early 2000's had a LOT of fans there so take it for what its worth.

Miami is one of those teams I could see, despite local talent, getting down and not recovering...just not enough fans and boosters there to really care imo

Miami still has South Beach and the city of Miami. Not to mention Miami U is great education. So you have to understand establishing product. Recruit places like Memphis, Charlotte, New Orleans, Baltimore, Houston, Detroit and Chicago. Why? Those cities ALL have talent , a major airport with Flights to Miami, and they DONT have South Beach.
Recruit speed over "stars". Carolinas, Louisiana, and Florida itself always have an abundance of this. Go ALL IN on the guys that LSU, Clemson, UGA and Bama are slow playing.

Yeah, there's talent in Dade county, but Ironically enough those guys don't want to play at the "U".

Cast a wider net and get kids from major metro areas that don't have the beach. And recruit speed. You have to give the appearance that Miami could be dangerous again before the big fish comeback.
