you know what kind of repricussions there can be if you "throw the schollie out there" and don't stand behind it? These coaches know not to offer unless they mean it.

we weren't going to turn him down if he signed. He just wasn't worth the time to pursue hard. If he woulda signed with minimal effort on our part then we probably would have taken him

he was a 3* with offers from USCe, UNC, UM, VU, and UT, I would just count it as a miss, but I wouldn't claim that we didn't pursue hard.

Didn't stop him from accepting Kelly's commit (baseball) or offering Terelle Pryor (basketball).

I highly doubt Kelly plays baseball here. Considering his family's pro baseball lineage, I see him getting drafted and him just playing football here, or not at all if he's offered a huge signing bonus.

Tell that to David Spurlock.

If what has been alledged is true, it's a bad bad deal.
very bad pub, and burned bridges.
I think for some reason though, that we would be hearing more from a pissed off coach if this were on the level.
You do not want a rep for pulling offers.

I actually think we would've heard from Fulmer on this if it were not true. Of course, he came off looking like a complete idiot the last time he accused prospects of lying to him. Who knows? I think it is very likely to be true, but there is probably some reasonable justification for pulling the offer even if it was not handled well. I have a feeling that all of this season's recruiting foibles will be dumped in the lap of the coaches who left by those who do not want to admit that anything is wrong with the program.
