This guy has been a gaffe machine and the comments about Afghanistan are ridiculous.

Who would replace him? Also, would it be better to get rid of him now or wait till after the mid term?

So wait... we can win in Afghanistan?

But what will we win IF we win??

Steele has said all along they can fire him if they don't like what he says, although he could be considered a loose cannon, a loose cannon might just what the republicrats need, as long as they are spineless democrat lite, they are only going to get luke warm support from about 70% of the American population.

add Palin, have it set in a rocket ship flying straight towards the sun, and we're set :eek:k:

Palin has more good sense in a pair of old dirty socks than Biden does in his whole being on his best day.

Palin would be ten times the president Obambi is.

Micheal Steele is a great 80's cop sitcom name.

I'm thinking more like a PI, say a replacement for Peter Gunn.

The R's don't need a 'loose cannon' who screams about big tent conservatism, while putting sex hotline numbers on fliers, and claiming the need to spread his message in ebonics to the inner cities. This man is a clown and should have been fired a year ago.

He has definitely given the TPers the excuse they've been looking for since Day 1 to get rid of him.

Don't be silly. It isn't just TPers. It's about folks who believe in conservatism, especially on the fiscal front. The R party should be heading straight to the fiscal conservatism playbook and pounding the current admin into the ground with it. The fact that the TP folks agree has nothing to do with Steele's failure on this front. His inability to find a rallying point and willingness to continue to find milquetoast appeasing style conservatives is pathetic and needs to change.

+1 BPV.................. the fiscal front is enough to drive any one mad that isn't a democrat.

Never understood why democrats think that throwing money at something fixes it.

We are saying the same thing, but for different reasons. You say you don't like Steele because he isn't a true fiscal conservative. No doubt many in the R party share that same sentiment.

And, I would imagine that you would say that likely alternatives to Steele would have the same problem. That is, anybody acceptable to the top office-holders in the partry is likely to be a team player, meaning that he is going to go along with their condemn spending now, not so much when we are in charge, game plan.

I would imagine some small segment of the TPers don't like him because he's black. But, that was hardly my point. Regardless of his color, he's not as conservative as they'd like him to be. I think its that simple.

The problem is, as I say above, anyone that is going to be acceptable to the money people at the top of the ladder is going to be of the same ilk.

it's really not about the money people at the top. It's about fiscal conservatism BECAUSE that will help stem the tide of rampant government encroachment into our lives.

it's also hard to preach fiscal conservatism when you're spending money on yourself in a manner similar to Nancy Pelosi. I used to really like Steele, but he lost me for good when he refused to address earmark reform.

Bogus.

No matter how much you subscribe to that theory, the elected party officials feed at the trough of public spending and manipulated tax policy just as much, if not more, than the Democrats.

When the R's are in charge, they have shown every bit as much of an ability to spend too much and save too little. They aren't about to put into place anyone who would be markedly different than Steele.

Oh, they'll fins someone to mollify the TPers on the point. But in reality they will not change their ways.
