Michelle Obama recently went to serve food to the homeless at a government funded soup kitchen.

These homeless people are so poor, they can't afford iPhones. Poor homeless fellow is having to use a Blackberry to take the pic.

How do you know that the guy taking the picture is homeless too?

He appears to be in line for food. Maybe he's not homeless but if he's getting a free meal isn't that more of an indictment on the system if he's not?

He bought the phone back when he was knocking back big coin. He's just at the "mushroom risotto" soup kitchen because he lost his job and can't find a buyer for his Blackberry or for his skull cap.

This must be one of those new government subsidized phones we were hearing so much about.

Now, that's change I believe in.

Just because they're homeless doesn't mean they shouldn't have access to all the finer materials in life.

Actually, I do have a question, in the interest of fairness.

SOJ, where did you see this was government funded?

Is that a TN fan behind him? I like the "girlfriend please" look on MO's face, too.

It was Miriam's Kitchen in DC. Doesn't sound government funded to me.

Miriam's Kitchen > Home

Miriam's Kitchen was founded in 1983 by a collaboration of The George Washington University Hillel Student Association, Western Presbyterian Church and United Church in response to an urgent need for services for the homeless in Washington, DC.

Did anybody checkout the website? Look at what they serve for breakfast....

Our menus include items such as scrambled eggs with salmon, roasted home fries, warm biscuits, and fresh garden and fruit salads.

I eat a granola bar on my way out the door every morning.

I already knew that. I had read their audit statement also.

I just wanted SOJ to come on here and attempt to defend himself. No surprise he didn't show up to stick his foot so far in his mouth he s***s it out.

Nothing but the standard knee-jerk reactionary pig-slop that is the standard discourse of todays talk show hosts and most of Fox News. Sad thing is I'm not at all a supporter of Obama, but I at least want to see rational (and coherent) criticism of him... because there is plenty where that came from.

It's ironic that it was started by Christians trying to be good Christians the way that Jesus taught. Or so I've read.
