Well, non-idiotic fans believed that.

What you say about Rich-Rod, the team has improved by two wins every year. Granted it started out as 3 wins, but still. The offense was dynamic, but the defense just flat out sucked. He was going to have to fire Robinson. The 3-3-5 isn't going to work it the Big Ten.

Michigan fans know Rich-Rod was one Pat White injury from winning a national title (they would have beat Ohio State that year). He can coach. It just isn't working out right now. We don't know why. And Michigan prides itself on being a clean program (whether that is true or not), and the violations didn't sit well.

Even if Big Blue doesn't get Harbaugh, the Michigan job is still a great job. They can get a solid coach no matter what. It's not too hard of a conference. It's not two weeks before signing day like with Tennessee. Michigan will be fine.

They aren't much worse off than we've been, differences in schedule strength aside.
