Should we worry about Michigan if Harbaugh leaves?
I call this a social twitch.. when any coaching job opens, someone must post these type of posts. It's like biting fingernails, it's become such a habbit people don't even think about what they're about to post

Let’s see….SEC vs B1G, longer summers in the south, beautiful, warm/mild autumn….and a big fat raise!!! Not worried about UM one bit.
I agree in general, but Michigan does have good Brats, Walley and Muskie, and Ice Fishing 😉

I like Coach Heupel but he honestly doesn't have the resumé to qualify for Michigan.

Would we worry if Alabama suddenly came open? No. Heupel's resumé isn't there yet either.

Heupel wasn't even on anyone's radar (except White) for the Tennessee job two years ago. He's had great success but he's not suddenly going to be on the radar for the tip top elite jobs after a two year run.

Fortunately this is Michigan's mindset. They think they deserve the most elite of elite simply because they're Michigan--nothing else to actually back it up besides "winningest program in history" and a national championship they split with Nebraska 25 years ago. The most beloved coach in their history never even won a National Championship.

They want "Michigan Men." It's a part of their brand and literally something that boosters look for. They don't want some country boy that played out in Oklahoma. It's why Rich Rod only lasted three seasons: he was starting to turn things around but ultimately didn't fit the "Michigan Man" brand. They brought in Brady Hoke--BRADY HOKE--to replace him because of his history with the program. He won the Sugar Bowl with all of Rich Rod's talent then quickly ran the program into the ground.

Michigan is gonna Michigan and if Harbaugh leaves they will hire Mike Hart--program alumnus and already on staff. It's just what they do.

According to non VOL fans CJH is leaving for the first opening at whatever school offers him.....He's not going to Michigan, Or Oklahoma or anywhere else...This is his program and he built it and is still building it...He's going to be here for a very long time.

The current idiot talking heads believe Heupel will bail at the first opportunity because they foolishly believe that Tennessee is a stepping stone job. In reality, Tennessee is a destination job and Heupel knows it.

Well in a replenishment of Jimmy's and Joe's based world, MICH is the second best job in the Big 10, where UT at a minimum follows Bama, GA, FL, LSU, TAM and soon TX. Not sure how many BIG 10 schools other than PSU even rate with UT, AU and OK for a combination of national/regional/local recruiting advantages. Not sure what the dynamics of USC and UCLA do to the overall strength of conference discussion going forward.

All relative I guess.

Tennessee is a tier 1 SEC program. It's laughable to think that Tennessee is behind all of the schools mentioned.

CJH might be here for 25 years.
Let's stop wringing our hands at every opening ( currently Mich ain't open). And stop tossing out ideas to the man.

What, they are probably PRAYING that he gets the job. Their only “worry” being that Butch stays at ASU

Wow, the end the of FB season is really tough for some fans to deal with. I guess you just start making up stuff to worry about.

Tennessee hasn't won the SEC since 1998. I don't think we've even won our division since 2008.

To stay in the Top Tier you need results. We've been short on results.
Fair enough. We returned to the expected results this year and I don't foresee us falling back anytime soon.

Only thing that should worry fans is if the NFL comes calling. I'm not sure Heupel would even be a candidate for most NFL teams, but I can't see him leaving for another college football job with how he has this one rolling. He has support of the AD obviously. We have a large donor base. A seemingly large NIL base, so I don't think the grass is greener somewhere else to a degree that he would make the lateral move. The NFL maybe, but he's still young so I am not sure if he makes that jump just yet. I think he knows he is on the cusp of something special in Knoxville.
