Morgan, Summers, Lucious and Green are their leaders in turnovers, Green and Lucious are their assist leaders.

We're going to have to work hard on the boards. I got a feeling this game is going to be won on the offensive glass.

Good luck to the Vols, and here's to hoping that we make it to our first ever Final Four!

thanks for the info. all the stats you gave the edge to tennessee look like a statistical push (the edge is very slight). i really hope we dont underestimate izzo...

Wow. I didn't realize they were first in the country in rebounding margin. How did I not know that? That seems initially like a poor matchup for us, does it not?

Thanks for the info. Izzo is incredible this time of year, he just knows exactly what it takes to win when it comes tourney time. I think we have a big advantage down low and like they have so far this tournament Tennessee will dominate the paint. Its going to be a dog fight for sure. Go get em Vols!!

They were 7-6 against NCAA Tournament Teams (Minnesota, Ohio State, Gonzaga, Florida, Wisconsin, Wofford, Oakland, Texas)

We were 4-6 (Beating ETSU, Kentucky, Kansas, and Florida)

Tennessee is 14th in RPI, Mich. St is 28th.

Stats don't matter in March though, I think we have seen that a lot. But it's nice to have an idea what we're looking at.

Izzo has been to 5 Final Fours. He knows what it takes, you're exactly right. He's a great coach. But our coach did a good job tonight at adjusting when we needed it. We will be okay. And yes, it's surprising to see that our rebounding is not that great, especially with Chism and Williams doing so well lately. That's the rebounding margin though. Doesn't mean we're not rebounding, just not on both ends. We've got to win the offensive boards, like we did tonight. We dominated on the OBoards tonight, but didn't do as well about the 2nd chance points. We gotta get those. All of these stats are from NCAA.com too btw.

Yeah, I'm sorry i didn't calculate Lucious. He is definitely a factor, and he is going to need attention. It's good that Lucas is out, but he definitely wasn't the only threat on that team. Just the biggest.

Good article. Just wish we could have an article about basketball without someone working Coach X's name into it. Anyways, I'm glad we're garnering some respect. Hopefully we are getting people's attention, and hopefully, we can be one of the famous final fours after this Sunday. Nobody may want to notice the Vols, but we're going to force them to.

itll be a good matchup but we'll win. They dont have nearly the depth we do. Ive been a MSU fan for the past 10 years before I attended UT and I can tell you they won't be able to run with our depth without Lucas. My guess is we'll have Chism on Roe, Williams on Nix/Sherman, Prince on Morgan, Maze/Goins/Bone on Lucious then Hopson on Summers. Their bench is very slim with Draymond Green and Chris Allen really being the only big contributers.

Depth has been our claim to fame this year. Our depth has saved our butts. To be able to have Tatum come off the bench (though he should be starting over Scotty), and to have Pearl come in (he can play defense...that's about it), and Bone contribute, and the others...we're a blessed team to have that depth, and to not be effected by injuries.

We will outrun them, we just gotta outscore them.

MSU has 6-7 guys who play, I think... may have depth problems, i.e. OSU...

Purdue, OSU, & Mich St all went 14-4 in conference play...

If we can contend with them for rebounds (we have size but they're ranked #1 in rebound margin), I really like our chances.

As always, we should bring stout D, and that's why we've gotten this far.

MSU has NO size inside. Just give it to Chism/Williams all game.

Chism is 6-9 and Williams is 6-10, but the two guys guarding them are 6-8. Not a huge difference. And they must be doing something right if they have a 9.0 rebound margin. We will have to finish strong around the basket, but I can't write it off as easy as saying just give it to Butterhands and Beast all game.

Brian Williams has really been a great player lately. But when he fumbles a ball out of bounds and then laughs about it when we're losing, I wanna smack that smile off of his face. I wanna put that sticky stuff on his hands like Clifford Franklin had in the Replacements. Maybe that would help.

P.S. Williams did throw down once tonight. Impressive.

How many time did the Vols lose the ball off their fingertips tonight? I remember Brian Williams being involved in several of those.
