Not really a fan and extremely disappointed in how they came out. I thought there could be a lot of potential with these ones.

I like the Greek on the helmet which roughly translates to "Come and take them," which is supposedly what King Leonidas said to the Persian army at Thermopylae. However, I don't understand the gold either...

Why the gold? I think they would've looked cool with the white instead of that gold.

a LONG time ago, Michigan States uniforms were Black and Gold. Add that to the bronze helmets worn by. . "Spartans" and you come up with some of the reasoning.

These uniforms were worn from 1934-1947. and for reference, the team that is famous for their winged helmets today, didnt start wearing them until 1938.

That uniform doesn't make any sense to me. The gold is awful, and black pants with dark green tops?

The dark green is part of the new "rebranding" that was done last year. Im not exactly a big fan of the new uniforms that they went to last year.

Call me one in a million, but I liked the ones that they wore when Charles Rogers played.

(that second pic is one of the greatest grabs I have ever seen. Not a big fan of chuck rogers for a few reasons, but he made some spectacular plays in college)

I friend of mine is a multi-million dollar donor to MSU. He was sitting at the table with Bobby Willams and Mrs Bobby Williams when they introduced these uni's. Mrs BW leaned over and asked him what he thought of them. His answer "they are the most hideous uniforms I have ever seen" The rest of dinner was very quiet.

He found out the next day that Mrs BW had a large amount of input on the design of the uniform. :dance2:

It looks like Michigan State & Western Michigan uniforms got together for a little incest

That's what I thought. Where did the gold come from?

came from This:

and from historical MSU Helmet. See post way up at the top. Back in the 30s and 40s MSU had black and gold uniforms. Gold Pants, Gold Helmets. Black Jerseys, Gold lettering.

The gold probably seemed like a cool concept, but it makes them look like Baylor.

Im with you 100%. However, for a one game/pro combaty/attention whooooer moment, I guess I will be ok with it.

They are kind of cool. I think they are interesting, and if "they look like Baylor" never becomes "they play like Baylor", then I will be ok with them.

Nothing sucks more than a uni change and then getting yer tail whooped. But we will be playing michigan that day, so Im not real worried about that happening.

One thing I do like is that the players had a large amount of input into these. And if the players think it is cool, the recruits will most likely think the same thing. To me, that is all this is about.

:good!:

Yeah it is, and I went to high school with the son of the people who they named their new football complex after.

Haha no the new Skandalaris football complex. Well it shares a name with Duffy Dougherty

MICHIGAN STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE - Facilities

Very cool.

I have done a Ton of work at MSU as a Project Manager, and going all the way back to when I was hanging duct myself - Breslin Center, Duffy Complex, Jenison Field House, IM Buildings, Spartan Stadium Addition/Renovation, Clara Belle Smith Center, Chemistry Bldg, BioTech Lab. but somehow the Skandalaris Center was one that I missed out on. Between me, my father and my grandfather, we have our hand on almost every building on campus. I miss that place. Dont get much work like that here in Cookeville.

Ok. reminiscing is over!! :cray:

Awesome little connection though. Very cool:good!:
