Oh, hell no.
Simply because there is a teacher’s union doesn’t mean you can’t be fired, it happens all the time. It’s a fallacy perpetuated by a few urban areas with strong unions. Most states have unions that are very weak while others have no effective union at all.
Actually, it is a right to work state now that their conservative Governor changed it in 2012:
LARA - Freedom to Work.
Cool. Thanks for the correction.Actually, it is a right to work state now that their conservative Governor changed it in 2012:

Michigan TerminationBut if you are the govt and give the reason of we dont like your innocuous, nonthreatening, comments so we are firing you, then you have a problem.
That article only states that the district denied the allegation and would not discuss it further for confidentiality. Which one would expect either way. The article does not provide evidence that he did or did not get fired for his tweets. Right now the only folks who know were the ones on the zoom call. I hope both sides recorded the call to be able to defend their position. The articles I've read said the school board fired him for something unrelated to the posts. Don't let the FOX news story about it warp the truth for you.

Walled Lake teacher says Trump tweets led to firing; school district denies it
The Oakland County school district denied Kucera's story, saying "no disciplinary action was taken as a result of any support of President Trump." But the district declined more specific comment, citing confidentiality surrounding personnel matters.
The district could have settled it but they chose not to:
Sounds like they're weasel talking their way out of this. They'll come up with some garbled reason eventually but it'll get down to being a Trump supporter
