Saw this in an article, what do you think?
Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Holds 257,325 people with infield capacity that reaches 400,000 people.
Michigan vs. Ohio State in the first regular season meeting not held in Ann Arbor or Columbus. Who wouldnt watch that?
The middle of the golf course? :dunno:
Seems like wishful thinking from someone that probably doesn't really know the setup of Indy.
Here is the article which also mentions using Las Vegas, Texas, Charlotte and Daytona as possible venues For a huge game and which possible matchups.
5 Gigantic Venues That Could Be Next To Host College Football Games » The Spun
Daytona is almost as big as Indy, so that's out as well.
The other three (Las Vegas, Texas, and Charlotte) are all 1.5 mile tracks. So they're not quite as ridiculous...there's not room for an entire small town inside those three.
They are all the same rough design, size and shape. Here's how they look compared to Neyland and Bristol:

As before, all images are at the same scale.

p.s. According to that article, only Charlotte of these three venues would break the 156,990 record we just set. Wikipedia says different, though. According to it, Charlotte only seats 94,000, and Las Vegas only 116,000...but Texas Speedway (the one in the image above), supposedly seats 181,655. IDK which is right, between Wikipedia and that article.
Honestly, the best bet to break our record would be two new fan bases in Bristol again, in a few years. That's about as big as a race track can get and still reasonably host a football game.
But we hold a trump card there. According to DeerPark, the Volunteers have right of first refusal for any future ball games hosted at Bristol.
