Middle Tennessee > East Tennessee > West Tennessee

West End is booming and the gulch is booming.

A lot of condos coming up.

I guess you can call Belle meade and the west end but it is maxed out...they might tear an old house down and rebuild but that's it.

Please tell me the areas in downtown Nashville that are growing faster than Sumner, Wilson, Rutherford, and Williamson?

And anyone who considers Brentwood (not you just in general) or Gallatin or Mount Juliet or Lebanon as Nashville might as well consider Gatlinburg as part of Knoxville.

The data doesn't lie, man. East Nashville and the Gulch are your two best examples.

Also while I understand your point, the Mt. Juilet and Brentwood to Galtinburg example is shaky. It's a different dyamnic.

Brentwood is a far different demographic of Nashville than gatlinburg is of Knoxville.

my point is you stated it got sparse outside of Nashville. I listed Nashvilles suburbs. if u count Hendersonville as Nashville than what u are basically saying is Nashville ends at the Kentucky border. also spring hill is 35 miles outside of Nashville and murfreesbkto is 50....how far out are we going?

we will just have to disagree...

I've spent the last 5 minutes trying to come up with one good thing that West TN has that Middle or East do not have. Nothing.

Ducks.

If you are a waterfowl hunter you will know what I'm talking about. It's not even arguable what part of the state is better.

It's home to me. I love it here. Not saying I wouldn't change some things though.

Fair enough.

The only other point I'll make is that Gatlinburg would still be Gatlinburg regardless of whether or not Knoxville even exists.

Brentwood would not be Brentwood without Nashville.

At least that's how I'm looking at it.

I think that is a good way to look at it.

I am not from Nashville and have only spent time their for games or visiting friends. I don't know much about Spring Hill, but it seems to be quite a ways to be treated as a suburb. I have always thought that Brentwood, Franklin, and Mt. Juliet were true suburbs of Nashville.

I agree Gatlinburg exist no matter what.

I feel though Brentwood (now not 10 years ago) exist on its own also though no matter what due to sheer businesses that are now headquartered there.

Rest of Nashville metro would go under though---I agree.

My entire point was someone said outside of Nashville it gets sparse. I can't even remember who at this point.

If we are going to consider all the names of the counties I have included as Nashville then what is outside Nashville where it gets sparse?

Cookeville? Half way to Knoxville?

Franklin Kentucky?

Jackson TN?

My whole point was where does it begin to get sparse?

PS.

Go Bisons!

According to what I've read on VN, sports radio and high school football doesn't exist outside of Knoxville, so I'll go with east Tn.

I said it was sparse.

Probably a poor choice of words.

My main point was most responses for Middle Tennessee were really just saying Nashville.

Very little was said about the southern half or northern halves of that section of the state.

Grew up in Memphis, Knoxville for 7 years. Back to downtown Memphis. Out to Cordova. Then to Jackson. Then to Bellevue. Then to Franklin. To Brentwood and have been here for @ 12 years and am not moving again.

Born and raised in southern middle Tennessee. Great place to be from. Lakes, bonaroo, jack Daniels, and an intense disdain for Alabama all call that place home too.

My family is from Erwin so that sounds good to me.

Just not much if you're a type that needs constant activity.

For city dwellers, I can understand middle TN. Nashville is a pretty cool city.

I feel like Knoxville has pretty much everything you need, with a more comfortable small-town feel.

For anyone with even a remote interest in the outdoors, that puts East TN way over the top.

And I have no idea how anyone can honestly say West TN, unless that's just all they've known. Not hatin' on Memphis, but West TN is a terrible place to be outside of that.

The funny thing is that we in W TN would gladly donate Memphis to MS or AR. We have KY Lake and Pickwick if you like the water. Reelfoot if you like hunting/fishing. It's just whatever you are into I guess. Like I said earlier, there would be some things I would change.

My dad is from Lexington. Grew up on a tobacco farm. We used to go back and visit my grandad when I was little. I remember a lake there and we'd go to some place near it to eat catfish. And we'd drive up to Bozo's bbq. Good memories. Then I got married after school in Memphis and we decided to gtfo. Left our families. Glad we did. Very.

I like Memphis. I use to travel there 10-12 times per year on business. I have some good memories from there. I haven't been for 18-20 years, I am sure a lot has changed in that amount of time.
