Mike Bobo to Colorado State

This hire came out of nowhere, at least i hadn't heard Bobo's name come up at all in the Fort Collins coverage. The bowl game loss solidified their opportunity to pass on Coach Baldwin...who I really don't think the AD wanted to hire.

Seems like reaching back into the SEC for an OC was very smart. I like it!!

Mike Bobo type hires are the way to go IMO at every level.

Don't recycle coaches trying to rehab careers.
Don't get into a bidding war for "top guys".
Don't hire guys with ties to the school just because.

Mike Bobo is taking the Colorado State head coach job. You can say what you like about Richt but I always thought Bobo did a great job with that offense. I have no idea who Georgia will go after for an OC. I do not think Richt will go to anyone who has a completely different offensive scheme from what they currently run. They are too stocked at RB and WR to change too much.

If I am Georgia, I hire Justin Fuente for 1.2 million a year and I hire him today.............

Memphis pays him just over 1 million a year..........

Mike Bobo at UGA = John Chavis at UT

Both are extremely good coordinators that were under-appreciated mostly because of failures on the other side of the ball. UGA would have been a national title contender for much of the past half-decade if only they had a good DC.

Speaking of Chavis, saw where A & M made an offer to become D.C.

That's probably accurate regarding UGA's DCs, but only if your referring to Clawson's failed tenure as OC at UT would you be correct regarding Chavis. Cutcliffe was one of the nation's best OCs and that coaching combo's aggressive approaches made UT's O+D one of the best in the nation. With Cut at the OC helm, UT was often unstoppable and Chavis' boys weren't gassed. Chavis, conversely, often had problems with third and longs. I think the dawgs will miss Bobo and their worst weakness is lapses within inconsistent defenses. Let's beat 'em in Knoxville next fall.

Once Frost and Pat N withdrew their names it made the AD reach imo. Rusty said Bobo knocked out the interviewn according to sources.

You would think a guy like Mike Norvell or BYU Oc would have targeted with their success and ties to region.

I believe Bobo will do well there but in 3-4 years CSU will be doing this again.

Hearing any chatter about Baldwin to UF?

No...the rumor here is that Coach Baldwin is headed to Oregon State to be their OC.
