Well if you want to include high school coaching then yes that’s 42 years. Only 29 years at the collegiate level. 2 at Indiana St and the rest at UCLA.That’s not true. At UCLA alone he coached 27 years. All together he was a HC for 42 years. Jay Wright coached Villanova for 21 years. I think he put in plenty of time. My point was, I’m not convinced he’s done with coaching not even one year out.
Wooden never served as an assistant but your point is valid. Mine is that I’m not convinced Wright is truly done. Jay Wright coached at Hofstra before Villanova. 28 years at the collegiate level altogether. If you want to include his assistant jobs then he had 38 years in the coaching business. 38 years is a long time to be in that business. I’m sure he was ready.
