Don't even act like you don't know the bad boy of Knoxville sports media. The Steve Spurrier of 10-under softball. Women love him, rec league umpires fear him, VN posters want to be him. You know exactly who the eff he is.

Classic.

I just wasted 4 minutes of my life reading that article.

I want him to give it back.

I'd say the biggest improvement from when I first started posting here is the fact that Griff is no longer active.

I think the twitter feed that shows up on the GoVolsXtra.com site shows all the people on there to be fairly unprofessional on the whole. There is too much of their opinion inserted in a profession where their opinion is really not important, short of columnists.

Griff, Wes Rucker, etc. all need to have personal twitter accounts where they have adolescent fights and slobber all over the Cubs and have professional twitter accounts that they use to simply bring "news" to light and into the open at a fast pace.

I miss him being on here. Loved nothing more than belittling that clown every chance I had.

I tend to check out the headlines on govolsxtra on occassion and they've recently added a live twitterfeed on their homepage that allows you to see what some of their "columnists" post, etc. Everytime I check it out, Mike Griffith is getting in some childish fight with someone, usually inserting some smart@$$ remark beginning with "lol" (as in, lol you are so stupid)... What's the story behind this guy? Is it really professional for him to be "re-tweeting" people just so he can get his superiority fix for the day? The guy seems like a major scumbag

Solid user name.

It must have been the Duke Spurrier. I can remember when he coached the rec team. The only thing that reminds me of Spurrier was when he would throw his visor and show is A$$ when his team was getting beat. It happened often.

My favorite was his article after the 08-09 season where he wrote about Pearl's feelings being hurt.

Why does he write in one-sentence paragraphs?

I mean, isn't that a little terse to read?

You know, writing in one sentence paragraphs is unnerving.

Just my opinion.

You know, writing in one sentence paragraphs is unnerving.

Just my opinion.

One sentence paragraphs allow the reader to savor the self-importance with which Griff carries himself, not only as a writer, but also as a 10-under youth rec league third base coach.

Reminiscent of Gene Stallings.

imo.

Short, powerful statements emphasize the Terry Bowden-like attitude and audacity behind each of writer32's keystrokes.

You wouldn't understand.

I've never seen Griff at work.

Sadly.

But, in my mind, I imagine him at his cubicle, typing with his tongue out, like Michael Jordan, floating mid-air, revolutionizing and perfecting his craft like no man before him.

Controversial writing style?

Maybe.

Muhammad Ali was controversial too.

Coincidence?

Maybe not.

griff reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes..."Randy, lay there like a slug". "It was his only defense". Ralphie (A Christmas Story)

Don't follow along on twitter.

hard to avoid it when it pops up when you are trying to find news. I don't have a twitter account, and have never been on twitter. So a little more difficult than simply "not following along on twitter." Thanks for the contribution though.
