Mike Gundy's Latest Rant

Not a fan of the guy. He has used us for two contract extensions. While I agree twitter is devisive, so is greed. Gundy got greedy and used Currie for more money, while leaving us at the alter. He was never coming here, so why even do that...let alone twice. Dude is a clown and only good for sound bytes and beating Oklahoma every 3 or 4 years.

I agree 100%. As a person that has been attacked on Twitter by an uneducated mass mob for something involving my work, I agree that it is indeed the end of western civilization as we know it.

5-7 years. 87-18-7 in OSU's history. Gundy has a 2-11 series win/loss record.

Anyway, don't blame him for using us. We're the ones that went after him again.

That’s not greed, it’s capitalism.

Capitalism is bad when UT doesn’t have leverage?

He didn’t solicit...merely listened. Never had a problem with him politely listening and getting more money to stay at his alma mater.

You're more forgiving than I am. As my beloved program was in free fall and becoming the laughing stock of the nation because we couldn't get anyone to take the job, he took advantage of the situation with no intention of ever coming here. I guess I am still dealing with the pain of that last coaching search. Hope we never have another opportunity to give Gundy a third contract raise.

Meh...don’t blame Gundy for taking advantage of a situation created solely by UT’s leadership.

Blame UT’s leadership for putting itself in a situation where the head football coach at Oklahoma freaking State University can play Tennessee like a fiddle to get a raise.

As much as it pains me to, I have to agree with this.. Truth is often painful and UT leadership has been a cluster for several years now.

For those who say he had no intention of taking the job here. If UT offers big money and OSU doesn't counter, then he would've been our coach. Then the ones whining about him would've been exalting him as the man that will take UT back to relevancy.. It's the VolNation way.

With the leadership in Knoxville never under estimate their ability to snatch disaster out of the jaws of common sense. Knoxville's hiring process is so predictably bad it's hard not to see opportunity coming.
