I haven't been that impressed with him since he got here. I cant quite put my finger on it but I haven't really seen any good happen since he got here.

Not really sure but I'm leaning toward the negative. However, I didn't think too highly of Dickey the Gator either. I voted for "note sure".

Things that I don't like....

1. Not sending the FULL band to UF and LSU. Money or not, the POTS should have been cleared for those two.

2. Getting rid of Davy.

3. Turning down ESPN coverage and a night game to play at high noon for Jefferson Pilot. Along with the Ole Miss game being at 12:30. Gives very little time to tailgate properly. The only thing getting cooked is you.

I understand there are circumstances to all 3 of the listed, but I just don't care.

Two 12:30 games in a row blows Moby-style. Getting to campus in time to grill, chill, and frill for a noon game is darn-near impossible.

Am in full accord that noon games suck. Wasn't aware that turning down an ESPN night game in favor of a noon JP time slot was an option. Are you saying that JP pays more for the game? From what I've heard ESPN had a higher right of refusal. Is that wrong???

Especially when you live 2 hours or more from Knoxville. :ermm:

No, the game could have been on ESPN at night from what I understand. The only problem that I recall is that it would have been a Sunday night game. Which wasn't really a big deal considering the Monday holiday, but it did interfere with people going to church on Sunday nights and we couldn't have that. Therefore, noon on JP it was. I'm not saying that's the only reason, but it's one of them.

I thought the biggest move Hamilton has made is getting rid the bb coach and hiring the new guy.

I liked the guy he hired, he seemed like a good pick.
It seemed like he might be getting the bb program going in the right direction.

So I voted liked him.

True, getting rid of Buzz was a good move IMO and picking up Pearl seems to be a good move. Only time will tell though. However, Hamilton had to be feeling the pressure about Buzz. I'm sure that others helped him with that decision.

Are we talkin about the UAB game? Guess I've had a few too many cause I don't get the connection. If we had an option of JP @ noon on Saturday opposed to ESPN on Sunday night, somebody was asleep at the wheel!!

Im not really sure either? I know last year it was any easy move from sat early to sunday night on ESPN2. Sure i had to be at work 6:30am monday but hey thats what i've saved all my vacation hours for.

I know Boomsday falls into play as well(for those that dont care for football but find tradition in firework shows?) Now for the opener it doesnt really bother me, Well until i got blistered this year, Im just glad its Football Time in Tennessee again at that point.

But it does seem we have become the official team of JPsports. Im the kind that thinks well atleast its on tv so i have my copy to watch when i get home from the game, But the Daves are really starting to annoy me.

As for the Old Miss game ok, ok? But heck that leaves Ga (most likely to be a 3-3:30) Sc, who knows? Come November UT at home you can bet will be 12:30pm kickoff.

Again, noon JP (God bless 'em) games wouldn't be an option if the Vols would just kick some ass!!!! :twocents:

good point....we Vol fans who live a distance away would get to see more games televised if that were the rule rather than the exception... :good:

i still liked dickey better as an AD. as far as i know ther are no night games yet at home. When was the last time that happened? I think he should always send the band down to away games. UT needs all the support the can get.

Can't really blame Hamilton for the lack of night games. It just so happens that we are on the road for a lot of big games this year (FLA, LSU, Bama, ND) so there are very few opportunities. TV pretty much sets 80% of our game times anyway.

The other thing about Hamilton, for those of you wanting a coaching change, your much more likely to get that under Hamilton.

The previous AD was pretty slow to make a coaching change.

I think Hamilton has already shown, by the way he handled the men's bb program, he's not going to hesitate to make a coaching change if he thinks its needed.

I dont think he will be getting rid of Fulmer, but I can see him putting on enough pressure on Fulmer to make a change in the offensive coordinator.

If he forces Fulmer to pull the plug on RS's fiasco he will be my hero for life. :fworks: :toast:

there are plenty out there believe me, and good ones also. NFL, College and the rest. What do you want? They don't have to be name guys to be good.

One guy who I've been waiting for somebody to pick up is Chris Hatcher from Division II Valdosta State. He was on Hal Mumme's staff at Kentucky and was the QB coach for Tim Couch and prior to that was at UCF where he coached Daunte Culpepper.

What I want is for you to name a coordinator you feel qualified to replace Sanders and why. I agree they don't have to be a 'name', lots of great minds out there you've never heard of I'm sure. I'd just like to hear you make a point other than just being generally critical coach Sanders and not offering options.
