He's been seen on campus by the Seattle Times and a Lubbock news outlet has reported it as well.

Going to a league with even less defense than the Big 12. Smart move.

Going to a 0-12 team... Dumb move

Good move to go where he can really rack up wins and yards. Only the SC defense can slow him down if he lands in Washington. I'm sure any west coast HS QB would be dying to play for him.

Wow...It would take him about 3 years but that would excite me and keep him out of the SEC...

With Clemson and UT making hires, he's probably just doing his part to show Texas Tech that someone out there has legitimate interest in him. My guess is that he's more interested in leveraging a bigger counter-offer from Tech than he is of taking over at Washington.

I would hope so.

He's a pirate stuck in TX. Not enough water to float his boat.

If you had to pick talent from any state, would you rather pick from Washington's talent, or the talent pool in Texas? Hmmm. Let me think about that for a minute (NOT).

The better question is would you rather be preseason ranked in the Big 12 #'s 2,3, or possibly 4 or be dead last in the Pac 10?

Tche will pay him.

I love how people aren't able to realize the only time Washington has been bad in the last 35 years is when they hire terrible coaches. Don James won big. Rick Neuheisel won big. It's an infinitely better job than one at a nondescript outpost in a league where the only teams that matter are Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska(when they inevitably get back).

If I remember correctly they were setting the standard for team speed back in the early 90's (with the possible exception of Miami of course).

I would not discount Washington being a historically good job, but given their current state and given what he built as far as attention to recruits and to the program out in that dust bowl of a town, I just think he'd choose to stick it out in the Big 12. Atleast until another offer comes available at a program that has more to offer in the short run.

A Washington job would be a rebuild, and he's already done that at Tche. He may look for short term rewards.

those were also the days where we were in that particular conversation.

They just said on CFB Live that Leach and TTU haven't negotiated recently. And apparently they are so broke (due in part to still paying Bobby K and the women's coach) that they would need to divert money from renovations to pay him much more. Did I really hear that right? That would seem to make it a forgone conclusion he'll go somewhere else. "You can have a raise or better facilities but not both."
