I think KU football coaches still enter recruits houses and talk about Gale Sayers and John Riggins...maybe they throw June Henley's name out there (he won an ESPY, after all).

Leach is a good coach theres no doubting it.....but with what supposedly happen at Tech that got him fired, I`m kinda suprised any school would take a chance on him.

I've always thought Maryland made a big mistake not picking him up. Also, while I might be a bit of a contrarian on this, I wanted UT to go after him after they let Fulmer go. I think a Mike Leach / John Chavis combo would have been awesome!

Only problem Leach will have at Wazzou is recruiting. Not an easy place to recruit at. But that's also why Leach is the perfect candidate --- you know you're not going to win with recruiting at Wazzou, so you need a guy that can win by having superior schemes on the field. No one better than Mike Leach on that front!

Leach threw a lot, because that was the strength of most of his teams. When he had solid running backs, he integrated the ground game into his schemes much better.

While the Big 12 isn't the SEC; it's not exactly like Texas and Oklahoma didn't have great defenses, too.
