Mike Matthews looks good

His TD catch was excellent, but it will be hard to leapfrog the receivers ahead of him with the SEC schedule coming up. CJH tends to go with experience and against tougher SEC teams he doesn't play a lot of different receivers.

He’s already with the 2nd team WR group, and started at KR too.

You don’t NOT play a talent like that once they’re healthy.

I disagree. Play the best guy. We’ve got a few guys still struggling to get separation. Heupel has shown he doesn’t mind giving a young guy a chance

On the screen play to Matthews, it was a four wide receiver set. If Mike keeps performing like he did, he will get on the field.

I think bringing the TE's into the fold will be our most dangerous tool to make sure WRs are freed up. Embarrassing amount of talent to spread the ball around to. Def think Bru is WR1 go to, but not by much.

Anyone else think he may become our most dangerous WR by the end of the season? He had the best two plays of any receiver last night in my opinion.
I think he has the most pure talent of all our receivers. I cain't wait to see him against O. K,'s defense.

Matthew’s has the potential to be the best WR we’ve had in 20 or so years. It’s tough to say if he’ll be better than some of the guys Manning had the pleasure of tossing the ball to.

Career wise I assume? Cause Hyatt's 2022 will be tough to top.

Was wondering about Matthews; some on here asking "Where is 5 Star Mike Matthews"? I thought maybe he just wasn't ready. He looked ready Saturday! That move on the screen was NOT of a normal Freshman.... Heuple getting him ready for a couple bombs vs Okie?

The Future is here. He appeared healthy and field ready. I think we continue to see Matthews worked into the rotation and becoming a playmaker as season progresses. Competition gets tougher Saturday. Running game will not be so easy moving forward. We will have to throw on more third downs to keep drives alive. Pass rush gets a lot stronger and receivers will have to get open. Who can make plays? Playmakers will get the targets. Nico will go through a maturation process the remaining games. As long as our defense keeps opponents out of the end zone, Nico will not have to win games while he grows. The success of this season will be determined by who wins games for us? Is the defense or will it lie in Nico’s arm and legs?
