If you don’t get playing time or the ball thrown your way or given enough touches how do you judge their merit? Doesn’t work. Contracts are needed however. Just not merit based. Silly idea at least for RBs and WRs.

No idea on that. The portal closed on a Saturday, so I don't feel like business days matters in this case.

Well obviously he can't do either, but I thinknour current WR corp is not capable of making the correct decisions and thus the offense had to be dumbed down

Correct. Compared to our two 5* and 10 4* yet we had a better defense and played them respectably at their place. According to On3 they have not added anyone official yet in the portal. For anyone to say or agree this is the beginning of the end for Heupel is nonsense.

Alabama and Florida are also ranked lower than us in the portal rankings yet some people seem to think Florida is on the rise online and we are doomed forever.

Wouldn't say respectable, atleast not after the 1st quarte, r where we were outscored 31-7.

That's 10000% his job to teach. Hell, Squirrel was tied for most drops in the SEC. It's obviously not just a Nimrod issue

We will absolutely make some moves when the portal opens back up in April.

Right.....but that is a player decision to do that. Hyatt wanted to get to that level, maybe our guys now don't have that drive.

No but he sure as Hades can make him use a juggs machine until his fingers hurt and run steps when passes are dropped until it gets their attention.So many times they quit on routes it’s a complete lack of discipline.

You're not wrong. However, there will be a lot of players that see the writing on checks as well. I think we'll snag a few needed positions.

Pope hasn’t developed quite a few of our WR and TE. That’s the issue not one player . It’s alarming when you are in the portal year after year for the same position group. That speaks to lack of development.

I think the old "if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball" motto could work here. Catch a wrench in traffic, catch a ball in traffic.
