Hoping Harper lands somewhere decent if she does. Really do not want Lindy Larocque to leave UNLV. Although a loss in the conference tournament and a slim roster returning might make it easier to leave, let alone the HUGE pay raise. Jumping from the MW to the SEC would be a tall task, but she's done wonders here. If Lindy leaves here, we'll gladly take Harper! LOL (kidding, but not kidding).

Still wondering how Joanie Mitchell is hanging on. I thought she would be one of the first ones to go only one I predicted would be fired that hasn't been fired.
Not sure if her voice is still hanging on, but I’m pretty sure she is still kicking.

Weren't 3 of those 4 recruited by Holly?
Jordan was re-recruited by Kellie and was soley responsible for bringing Rickea here (along with help from Jordy's mom). It will be interesting to see how 5 star Nyla Brooks winds up in the draft in a few years, Of course 5 star Justine Pissott was a dud, so you never know how they will turn out until the play....

B.S. Check my profile picture. Four first-round WNBA picks doesn't speak to a poor recruiter...
In all honesty Earl, the HS recruiting was below UT standards big time. I don’t have inside info as you do as to the reasons, but that likely was key to her exit card in the end unfortunately. Just an uninformed opinion, but a school of UT’s pedigree probably cannot whiff in HS recruiting without effect on the coach eventually. I liked her, was hoping she got another year btw. UT is a unique job as everyone knows, expectations are super high, as they should be at a place like UT.

Hope you come around and support the new staff, I understand your frustration, and know you were a big supporter/donor. Glad I met you at the SEC tourney. But school over coach always in the big picture. Kelly will land on her feet again. The new coach has a learning curve, but she has been top notch in recruiting from the HS ranks and the portal….I know, NIL $ has been mentioned a bunch, That’s above my pay grade in this case, but whatever the reasons, CKC is pretty damned good at recruiting.

Give her a year or two more before you judge. She has some serious moxy.

The AD, after finally recognizing the issue, got the men's collective involved, but unfairly pulled the rug out before Kellie's staff could use the funds. After being turned down by several name coaches, they go and hire a mid-major coach with no D1 experience at any level.

Her 'system' will not succeed no matter how many players they buy. Defense and rebounding, the most important of Summitt's coaching legacy, are non-existent, instead relying on overwhelming teams with sheer numbers and three pointers. Once Kenny Brooks showed opponents how to beat her system, things haven't worked out very well.

I doubt that I will ever be that involved in women's basketball again. To be honest, I don't miss it. Instead of working my schedule around basketball games, I do things that I really enjoy like traveling. This season I took a cruise around South America and will be in Italy while the NCAA's are going on.
How can she not have D1 experience if she was a mid-major coach? She had limited D1 experience but not "no D1 experience at any level" (whatever that phrase means).

Defense and rebounding are non-existent? They're 2nd in the country in offensive rebounds per game and 21st in total rebounds per game. They're 9th in turnovers forced per game and 14th in steals per game. Half-court defense could use some work.

It's a real shame you've given up on an entire women's sport because of your feelings about the UT AD.

Cardoso 3pt % 100% 1 game one shot, the well-known verse totally appropriate (last second loss to S.C.) the last nail in the decision to fire Harper

just my personal belief, I don't care if you or do not have the same beliefs as mine.

Obviously, you’re friends with Coach Sam Williams, because this is Word for Word what she has told people in the industry. I have no doubt that she told you all of this. Some of my colleagues work on contracts with Mississippi State athletic purchasing, and this is exactly what she told them. The problem is you’re operating your entire fandom, or former fandom, on information that is just not true.

They were not turned down by anyone. In fact, the coaches at Oklahoma and Indiana very much wanted the job, and were very upset to not receive an offer. Danny White hired the person that he believes is the next big thing in women’s basketball. The next few years will determine if he was right on that or not, but early returns seem favorable.

I’m not sure how you can say defense and rebounding are nonexistent when this has been one of the best rebounding teams in the country for most of the year, and they lead in several defensive statistics. They have to get better playing half court defense, as Caldwell has said on numerous occasions in media opportunities.

Maybe you haven’t paid super close attention to the schedule, but they played Kenny Brooks in the next last game of the regular season. Georgia beat Tennessee doing something completely different than what Kentucky did, Tennessee steamrolled Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt won in the SEC tournament by rolling out the exact same game plan they had in the regular season, just executed it better and Tennessee shot a slightly lower percentage. It wasn’t even in the same realm as what Kentucky does.

You can spend your money however you want, and you can cheer for whoever you want. I just hate to see someone that was clearly invested at a high-level previously walk away over incorrect information given to him or her by a disgruntled former assistant that begged the current head coach to remain on staff.
