Trump’s DHS Extends ‘Temporary’ Amnesty for 300K Foreign Nationals

President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is extending a temporary amnesty status for more than 300,000 foreign nationals, a notice from the agency states.

In an announcement on Thursday, Nielsen said DHS would not only continue to complywith a preliminary injunction from last year — in which a federal judge in California blocked Trump’s rescinding of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) — but that the agency would be extending TPS for hundreds of thousands of nationals of Sudan, Haiti, Nicaragua, and El Salvador through January 2020.

Sudanese nationals have had their TPS extended since 1997, while Nicaraguans have enjoyed TPS since 1998. Likewise, El Salvador’s nationals have had TPS since about 2001, and Haitians have had their TPS renewed since about 2010.

Trump sought to end TPS for the more than 300,000 foreign resident population in the U.S., prompting a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Now, though, Nielsen’s decision to extend TPS will allow the foreign nationals to stay in the country until at least January 2020, a reversal of the administration’s initial plan.

TPS has become a quasi-amnesty for otherwise illegal aliens created under the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1990 (INA) that prevents the deportation of foreign nationals from countries that have suffered through famine, war, or natural disasters. Since the Clinton administration, TPS has been transformed into a de facto amnesty program as the Bush, Obama, and now Trump administration has continuously renewed the program for a variety of countries.

Washington Post: Border Rush May Hit 100,000 Migrants in March

The cross-border migrant inflow may reach 100,000 people in March, according to the Washington Post.

“The number of migrants taken into custody last year jumped 39 percent from February to March, and a similar increase this month would push levels to 100,000 detentions or more,” the Washington Post reported March 4. The paper continued:
U.S. court restrictions on the government’s ability to keep children in immigration jails — and the sheer volume of people arriving — have left Homeland Security agencies [on the border] defaulting increasingly to the overflow model Trump deplores as “catch-and-release.”
An inflow of 100,000 per month brings migration up towards the levels encouraged by former President George W. Bush before his economic bubble and 2008 crash.

Two Dead in Southern Mexico After Gunmen Attack Migrant Caravan

A team of gunmen opened fire on three trucks transporting migrants on a highway in the southern border state of Chiapas Sunday morning, leaving two dead and seven wounded. The migrants, made up of primarily Guatemalans, were heading north toward the United States border as part of a caravan.

Three trucks were attacked by a team of gunmen believed to be rival human smugglers, according to a statement by the state attorney general’s office. The attack occurred on the Pujultic–Venustiano Carranza Highway within the state capital of Tuxtla Gutiérrez between 3 and 4 am. All victims were reportedly transported to local hospitals.

Chiapas is the main entry point for Central American migrants in caravans or smaller groups bound for the United States. With the daily influx, the region exhibited a spike in violent crime, narcotics dealing, and human smuggling activities. Breitbart News recently reported on the murder of two municipal police officers who were gunned down by a suspected MS-13 member from Honduras.

If I remember correctly we have someone here who often defends illegals, if he is still there he should step up to the plate and take these peaceful hardworking folks in.

55 Migrants Transported to U.S. Hospitals Each Day, Say Feds

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials report that agents and officers are referring an average of 55 migrants per day to hospitals. Over the past four years, this resulted in a Taxpayer Cost of $98 Million.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief of Operations Brian Hastings told reporters in Washington, D.C. Tuesday that Border Patrol agents are facing both national security and a humanitarian crises. The challenges have been brought on by the massive numbers of family units and unaccompanied minors.

Previously Deported Illegal Alien Convicted of Child Rape After Release by Sanctuary City

A previously deported illegal alien convicted of RAPING a CHILD has been sentenced to less than two years in prison for re-entering the United States after the sanctuary city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, protected him from being deported.

Honduran illegal alien and convicted child rapist Juan Ramon-Vasquez was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the U.S. after being deported in May 2009.

After being deported in 2009, Ramon-Vasquez was found to be living back in the country in March 2014 in Philadelphia. At the time, the illegal alien child rapist was in Philadelphia Prison Department custody, but the local authorities refused to turn Ramon-Vasquez over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents for deportation due to the city’s sanctuary city policy that shields criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation.

Once released from Philadelphia officials’ custody, Ramon-Vasquez went on to REPEATEDLY RAPE A CHILD and was convicted for the rapes, being sentenced to eight to 20 years in state prison. The illegal aliens’ federal prison sentence will now be added on to his state sentence for the child rapes.

If not for Philadelphia’s sanctuary city policy, prosecutors and ICE officials said the repeated rape of the illegal aliens’ child victim would have never occurred.
