Milroe really not impressing at the Senior Bowl

Something happened with him last season. When he took over the starting job in 2023, he really struggled with short and intermediate-range throws but got much better as the season went on. He might have been one of the most improved players in the country in 2023. In 2024, he regressed and for extended periods of time looked like he did early in 2023.

As Tennessee fans I know we like to bellyache about opponents playing their best games against Tennessee, but I think he played a particularly poor game against us this year that had a lot to do with us winning that game. Maybe his second worst of the year (behind the OU game). He missed multiple wide open guys, McCoy made a great play on the ball in the EZ to get the INT but it was a really poorly thrown ball, and he even seemed kind of tentative when running.

I don’t think JM is a good drill/ practice guy. In the game he can suck for 3/4 of the game but has the physical ability to make 3 plays that determine the game.

IMO, he and Ryan Williams were all that scared me on Bama’s team this year. McCoy pretty much took care of Williams

I think he only rushed for 10 yards or so, and I think you’re right, he missed some pretty easy throws . People always talk about Will Brooks and that pick to close out the game, but the biggest play of that entire game was Brooks shoestring tackle of Milroe on that QB sneak that he almost housed. That 10 or 11 yards rushing would’ve been about 80-90 yards and a Touchdown.

Yep, I thought it was over there. That play and the horrible throw that McCoy one handed.

you take away Milroe's legs you take away his ability to play QB.

he was able to pass effectively when the whole defense has their eyes on him running. it opens up lanes. it seems by our game, at the latest, defenses had figured out, stick a spy or two on him, and then tell the DBs to play pass only others have the run assignment. somehow Georgia never figured that out.

Blows my mind that UGA was down 28-0 to Bama. That’s worse than how our trip to Columbus started.

I don't disagree but Milroe did throw for 239 against us. I would say, at the very least, his Michigan game was worse and probably a couple others.

Only Tim Tebow was an infinitely better college QB and actually led an NFL team to the playoffs. I agree that Tebow was not a good NFL QB, though.
Tebow knew his limitations, and focused on his strength. Milroe tries to ignore his limitations and acts like a QB who stays in the pocket.
