Milton at wildcat

I'd like to see them put Milton in at fullback sometime. A lot of options with 2 QB's in the backfield. No gimmicks required for UGA. I just rewatched last years game. We scored on the first drive but Jones was wide open for an 80 yard TD on the 1st play and Hooker overthrew him. He was by himself in the secondary. UGA will not stop this attack any better than the rest of the teams who tried this season.

Milton is not a strong runner. Hooker breaks a lot more tackles.
He's a strong runner simply because of his size. He stays upright too long giving defenders a better chance to tackle him. Hooker uses head fakes and juke steps and was spinning a lot at point of collision plus he dives for a few xtra yds. quite often. I'm glad HH spins less because that looked like an injury just waiting to happen.

Just being big doesn't make a strong runner. Look at Dee Beckwith.

There's a lot of NFL scouts been at the home games this year and rightfully so, but if you guessed their top two favorites you think they're there to see you would probably be wrong. They love Darnell Wright and Joe Milton. Sure they are watching more than that but this is the first two names out of their mouth.

Milton will show out next year after 3 seasons with Heupel coaching him and being in the system.

Edit - Definitely a "NO" at using him at wildcat.

Never fails. Offense is scoring 47 points per game and still people want to "add wrinkles." Tennessee could be scoring 70 and still someone would want to add this gimmick play or that thing they saw some other team run on TV last week. I swear.

Lol true. I do think each of Heupels play sets have 4 to 5 different plays in them. I expect to see some new plays this week out of previous offensive looks.
We also ran that option play Hooker scored on last week out of nowhere to give Georgia something to think about.

Do you think it has to do with toughness? (or lack thereof) I have known many big guys who were just not very tough. Many of them have never need to be tough, their size has been intimidating enough. Also many big guys are mild mannered because they know they may hurt a little guy accidently.

Maybe, but I still wouldn't want to ever piss him off. He does seem mild-mannered off the field and sometimes guys just don't know how to flip that switch -- or it's just not in their nature. There's always a spectrum in any group of males when it comes to aggressiveness and toughness.

The other explanation is that he's been coached to be a big, strong-armed pocket passer and he's doing what the coaches want him to do. Heup has said they don't want HH to run as much or as aggressively as he does, but they also don't want to restrain him when he is doing what comes natural and is effective.

Oh, Lawd.. not this again.. I’m pretty sure the coaches are focused on what it takes to win and whatever that is, that’s what they’ll do lol

No, no, it's actually really smart.

Here our third string QB is out, but let's take the other backup and make him a running back. No potential for something bad to happen and derail the magical season in this scenario. After all, a spark on offense is clearly what's needed.

I agree with Milton at wildcat. I know that Smart will have a defensive game plan to try and stop our offense. We need to have something in the playbook they have not seen on film.

So I’m not trying to be an ass but you’ve got one guy that’s a Heisman contender that throws the ball better, runs the ball much better, and makes better decisions. Why in hell would anyone think it’s a good idea to put him on the bench for Milton?

Why do we need wildcat?

Actually, we had a whole litter last week. We bagged them, drove them out to some low traffic road and dumped them. Hmm, guess you were right to begin with, we don't need a wildcat.

I laughed bc the sarcasm coming through needed no blue font. I’m just mystified how anyone can watch this offense and think yeah let’s get the backup in there to run the ball? Milton has a role; he gives you a shot into the endzone from anywhere on the field almost at the end of the half or game.

Those cats weren’t real wild. 😂 They definitely seemed neutered after the game.
