WOOOOWWWW!!! THAT is most impressive Joe!

Funny you should post that today..

Last night I dreamt I was swimming in orange soda.

Turns out, it was just a Fanta sea!

Life is just a Fanta sea, can you live the Fanta sea life?

I know this is intended to be cool and light-hearted. However, it doesn't make me less concerned about his ability to consistently hit a wide open WR in stride when they've clearly separated themselves from the DB... I'll pretend I didn't see it.

When we played Georgia in 2016 Gary Danielson kept talking about Jacob Easons cannon, no pun intended lol, Joe Milton has the cannon

As my High School Basketball Coach said to a player once when he dunked a volleyball „When we start playing the game with a volleyball, I’ll make sure and put you in“

the guys have handled it fine this year. Last year it was tough because the WR coach didnt have them catching 3000 balls a month on the jugs.

I agree. Our wide receiver core is becoming elite. Just have to get used to a different quarterback. We are on our way back to wide receiver U

I respectfully disagree. His main problem is he can't hit receivers consistently on short to intermediate routes.

Do you even watch the games? He hits them. Consistently. His problem is touch not accuracy on the short passes. Should he let up or should they learn to handle his hard passes? That is the question.

I'd love to see Joe's haters in a snowball fight with him. Just so I could yell, Baskin-Robbins! Each time one of his zingers gets them in the mouth.
Unless he was aiming for someone about 60 yards in front of them, it ain't happening.

Maybe he should throw an interception each time he passes so you haters can feel vindicated. Too bad I don't have his text number or private email to suggest he do that.

I don't care if he can sling it into space. I just want to see him hit a WR in stride for once in his career.

Let me join in on the response to this post...

Once again, below is a screenshot of one of his throws most attacked on this site as a horrible miss. It was characterized as uncatchable, landing in the stands, etc, and is simply not backed up by the facts. First, notice the receiver is mere 2-3 inches off the ground AND that you cannot see the fingers on his left hand as he attempts the catch. Second, if you go back to the replay the ball barely gets out of the endzone hitting on the white boarder and literally one hops into the goal post base. Dropping 7-8 feet in 7-8 yards does not support a velocity issue, especially since he had to put some height on the ball to get over some leaping defenders at the LOS. It has never been established TO MY KNOWLEDGE if or if not the receiver properly broke off the route stopping a couple of yards in instead of continuing on and reaching up a few yards deeper.

It will be interesting to see if the receivers after getting practices with Joe at #1 maintain their speed more than they would with HH. The ball definitely has the chance to go faster and farther with this guy's arm. I have seen on several of the downfield misses the receivers ease up or stutter step during their routes. Wish he had 4 and 11 to throw to, especially 11 with his speed providing separation downfield. Hopefully 10 can fill that void.

Currently the weather forecast shows showers all day ending 2 hours before gametime with 24% chance of more and winds at just under 10mph. Hope so, don't want another Vandy type blustery wet weather game as we get our last shot to validate his first line abilities for next season.

Why don't you watch some video. He hit a ton more receivers than you are giving him credit for. He throws well over the middle. His problem is not enough height on deep throws. Give it a rest.
I do think his inaccuracy is somewhat overblown. But he does rely on the deep ball too much, which he rarely hits. He is also not enough of a threat to take off. I know he can, but he doesn’t have that instinct. I just wish like everything that he could put it all together.

This kind of publicity stunt gives me "Butch Jones" vibes. We've known how strong his arm is since he got on campus. Do a video of him hitting moving targets 50-60 yards downfield and I'll be excited.

Junk duty stats don't count. When he was required to make plays, he couldn't. He reverted straight to Overthrow Joe missing receivers a quadriplegic could have hit.

LOL! He was a backup qb, and did very well with the PT he was given in "junk time." And you may recall everyone was very jittery going into the Vandy game, and he and the offense scored 56 points in rain and wind conditions. That wasn't junk time. Hooker was a late bloomer. A pattern of overthrows isn't the worst thing in the world., even if it continues at times next season. As golfers say, better long than short.

Sound a little hurt over a dude that lost his starting job because of overthrowing open receivers and then proceeded to continue to overthrow open receivers. Seems like he's learned nothing the last 2 years.

A pattern of overthrows means he's not progressing despite training obviously being wasted. Better long? How about doing what you're quite literally recruited to do rather than wasting the time of the trainers. He's got a cannon. Unless you're in the Jones/Pruitt play style needing hail mary passes every game, that means nothing without touch.

Question is....will he? Right now, it's looking like Nico is going to be our starter in 2023. He's got better instincts, better movement, and hasn't show the wild inaccuracies that Milton has to this point.

I disagree that it’s looking Nico will be our starter ‘right now’. Milton has played reasonably well, and Nico has went through a few drills. Me personally, I wouldn’t even consider playing Nico at all next year. We should be able to get along fine without him, and save his eligibility while getting stronger.

Yea, not without the Jolly Green Giant and the Iron Giant being listed on our roster. Quite possibly the only 2 figures Milton couldn't overthrow. He's got an arm, but he's shown, and here's the key word, CONSISTENTLY can't hit open receivers downfield. That's gonna allow every team to key in on that weakness and force him to go deep knowing he struggles with it. The only overthrows I excuse are the ones he's had in goal line situations where the ONLY place you're allowed to miss a crosser is high.
