  • Milton III, in his first start of the season, accounted for 234 yards of total offense and four touchdowns as Tennessee beat Virginia 49-13 in Nashville. He completed 21-of-30 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
  • He added 33 yards rushing, including this lethal stiff arm, to go along with a career-high-tying two rushing touchdowns. Milton became the first Vol player to record at least two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the same game since Hendon Hooker did it in last year's season opener vs. Ball State.
  • It was the first time in Milton's career that he has produced at least two rushing touchdowns and two passing scores in the same game. Milton became the first Vol player to achieve that same feat vs. a Power Five opponent since Joshua Dobbs registered two rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns vs. Missouri on Nov. 19, 2016. Milton also extended his consecutive pass attempts without an interception streak to 257, which dates back to the 2020 season at Michigan.
  • He has not thrown a pick during his entire time as Vol, a streak that is at 174 attempts, which is the second-longest in program history behind Hooker.

If you read the comments from some of the football "experts" on this forum it would appear that we lost.

Blows my mind how Anthony Richardson received so much hype for his athletic ability with piss poor production and Milton doesn’t get any of it with the strongest arm and better production.

I think Milton played well but we all know he has potential to get better. Nationally, there is some very good QB play out there this year! Watching the Leonard kid right now from Duke and a few others I watched off the top of my head this weekend were Sanders @Colorado, Gabriel @Oklahoma, Penix @Washington and Travis @FSU. That's not even including the Williams and Maye from USC & UNC.

Jaxon Dart had 4 TD and 0 INT. 300+ yards. Not sure if Mercer is much worse than Virginia tbh lol
