I watched EVERY touchdown of EVERY game from 2022… And I have to say that Joe Milton III looked DAMN GOOD! Yeah, some of them were in mop-up duty against lesser opponents, but his arm is phenomenal! And his performances against Vandy and Clemson really stood out. We still have a good stock of receivers & running-backs….. O-line is better than last year. D is definitely improving. I think that his “ceiling” is OVER THE TOP! After 2 years in Heupel’s system, I think he is ready for the Big Time! — I haven’t anticipated a football season like THIS in many years! - Can’t wait to see what happens! GO VOLS!!!!!!

10-2: Plus a major bowl win. And I think we beat either UGA or BAMA!

But, if we beat UGA AND win the EAST - WATCH OUT! I will have to re-access my prediction!…

I was a solid Milton skeptic until the Clemson bowl game. Milton displayed to me he could put it all together on a big stage. I'm comfortable with him unless he does something to betray my trust in his play.

Milton came here with tons of potential but damaged. Now in his 3rd year under one of the best QB coaches in the game, being able to grow last year mostly out of the spotlight but the at the end was able to put it together when the big game is on the line.

This is not the Joe Milton who ran out of bounds on a final play. Who avoided contact at all costs. Who had no touch on his bullet like throws. That guy has been transformed by CJH into a top level QB - and we will bear witness as Immortan Joe Carries us, all shiny and chrome, though the gates of NC Valhalla.

I am genuinely curious to know what makes you think this OL is better than last year’s. Not sure if anyone can compare to Wright and even though Carvin was not great he had 40+ starts in his career. Also who knows when Coop actually comes back. He has a long road to hold. So now we get a few Centers with no real game experience.

I’ve said it all offseason , I think the O takes a step back.

I like Joe and think he has grown as a person exponentially but I don’t think he can put up the same numbers an Hooker did. I hope he can, but not sure if he’s ready. I don’t think the OL will give him the time he needs to sit in the pocket.

I also don’t think we need to score 46 a game if the D is as good as I think it will be. If the RBs take the next step this Offense could be more about ball control than quick scores, at least until Coop comes back

I think he’ll be good enough but I hope the O-line is good enough to protect him. Maybe he takes off a little more. I think the offense could look a bit different this year.

Watching all of last year's games, the one trait that stood out from Hooker was his ability to escape pressure in the pocket. So many times the pocket would collapse around him and he would escape and make small to huge runs. Milton WILL take more sacks. No doubt about that but he will have a good year and probably throw 3000+ yards 30ish TDs. he overthrew very few WRs. I think the running game is even more effective this year and we lean into it.

I like Joe under CJHs tutelage. This offense has put points on the bosrd with all levels of talent at QB and WR.

My biggest concern is how well he is protected. If the Oline isn't a disaster, i expect big numbers from this stable of RBs and WRs. If the Oline is a train wreck the Offense will still score but not on the level as last season.

I hope Joe balls out this season. I know he has had good coaching, worked hard to be great and has the drive to succeed. Watching Hendon have success last year and realizing that the goal of playing in the NFL is attainable has him ready. GBO and Go Joe.

The OL will be good (barring injuries of course).

While we won’t be able to plug in someone to replace Wright from a talent standpoint, Mincey and Crawford were solid last year and will keep that RT spot solid.

Campbell seems to have made the LT spot his without question which is super promising.

Spraggins is a potential 1st/2nd day draft pick with a mean streak.

Cooper, another guy who’ll be drafted, will lock down the Center spot and even if he’s out all the way until UF it shouldn’t affect us too greatly

LG is really the only question mark and we have enough talented young interior OL that if one of the older guys doesn’t work out we should eventually find someone who can lock in that spot.

Hopefully you are correct. If so, the sky is the limit for Joe, the RBs and the WRs

Not sure about the O-Line comments but what I do know is our Tight Ends are going to make a HUGE difference this year. We will also be better at running back. Our wide receiver rotation is deeper than last year however we most likely will not have a receiver the caliber of Hyatt, but you never know. Defense will be better in areas, and we have plenty of depth on the Defensive line to not wear down through SEC play.
I am excited for the season, to the point where I am headed to Gainesville. I want to be there for our first victory in the Swamp in 20 years...

I love the quote by Robert Louis Stevenson " It is better to travel hopefully than to arrive"..

We are all very hopeful for Joe. If we see Orange Bowl Joe every game this season, the sky just might be the limit. Which raises another question, a perfectly valid and fair question…

A football coach has to be prepared, right? What if we see only flashes of Orange Bowl Joe? What if his decision-making isn’t what we need or expect and that costs us? What if Orange Bowl Joe doesn’t show up every game?

How long will Heup stick with him before reaching for Nico? I ask this because Heup just said the other day that Nico is ready. None of us want that, of course. And none of us have the answer. We want Nico to get just as much playing time as Joe got last year…mostly mop-up duty. Joe has earned his chances and our respect and and we all want him to shine. But, to me, it’s nice to know that Nico is ready in Heup’s mind.

And we all know our Volnation brethren, not to mention football writers who cover us…one overthrow or one unnecessary sack from Joe, and some will see “an emerging QB controversy at Tennessee.” Heck, one mistake from Joe and some will be calling for Nico.

Let Orange Bowl Joe rule every game this season. The Big Orange Nation is completely behind you, Joe.

OL is better than last year?? You’re not paying attention. We lost a lot of talent and experience, and now we have some injuries.

We are not (currently) better on the OL than last year.

While I want Milton to have a phenomenal season, the sample size of him being successful is very small. There is a much larger sample size supporting the opposite. I do think if anyone can get the best out of him, it’s CJH.

I have a feeling he’ll have a couple games where his play will not give us a chance to win. The most important factor that will determine how successful this season will be is Milton’s brain, meaning how quickly can he process and execute based on what he’s seeing.

He’s inconsistent at best in his career. He had a month to prepare for Clemson.

The proof will be in the pudding if he’s able to play the entire season and make better decisions consistently.
