More playing time for those who share the new staff's vision.

More experience come next March.

Kellie lost a starter to injury early last seadon along with a key reserve late in the season (before conference tournament). Despite that, her team acquitted themseves well.

I believe we are about to witness a total culture change at Tennessee. Not sure it will be in a good way neither. Alot of less caliber players will be wearing orange and white soon and im sad to see this transition.
No reason to think that, we have high caliber players coming. Besides that, we had high caliber players last year who lost to Vanderbilt. It will all work out, exciting players coming, don’t despair, patience is a virtue. 🙂

I sure wish this was early November when everything will be settled and we can just be excited about the first exhibition game coming up. Hell, it may be wise to take a break from message boards and start back for the season. Some of the posters here enjoy getting to ridicule the program and the new staff just a little too much. :(
We can get excited way before November, got 3 games in Europe, in August. 🙂

That is a much different example though. This is a player who signed to play for a tradition rich school for a coach who had clearly failed. It is much harder to understand why someone would value playing for Holly Warlick so much that they would leave Tennessee over it.... now, if she just doesn't like Kellie Jolly Harper? Then fine...
At the end of the day they’re young and their mind can change like the weather. Whatever reason she chose to leave is solely up to her and other players. As fans we don’t own them nor need explanations from them. I hate she’s leaving but at the end of the day athletes have to make the best decisions for themselves.

Loved MiMi but she did not get near the pt with Holly as she should have! I say hit the door and play where you want to but you will not be a LVFL and blew your chance. She would have got many more touches under Kelli but so be it!
She made the best decision for her. But as fans how do we decide who’s a lvfl. How many practices, sprints, warmups, etc did we go through to determine who’s a lvfl? Funny when these kind of comments come out of y’all 👄

You can't tell me you were impressed with the way things were going with the "caliber players" we watched under Holly's term?

What are the individual goals of these players? If they were HS All-Americans and want to become first team AP All-Americans in college, can coach Harper develop them? In her 15 years as head coach at Western Carolina, NC State, and Missouri State did Coach Harper develop any player into a first team AP All-American? Is it more likely to happen by playing for Coach Harper or transferring to play for Geno, Tara, Kim, Jeff, or Muffet? Those five coaches consistently develop their players to be the best.

Do the players want to become first round draft picks in the WNBA? Has Coach Harper ever developed any of her players to be first round draft picks in the WNBA? Is it more likely to happen by playing for Coach Harper or transferring to play for Geno, Tara, Kim, Jeff, or Muffet? Those five coaches consistently develop their players to be the best.

Do these players want to play in a Final Four or win a National Championship? In her 15 years as head coach at Western Carolina, NC State, and Missouri State did Coach Harper take a single team to the Final Four or win a National Championship? Is it more likely to happen by playing for Coach Harper or transferring to play for Geno, Tara, Kim, Jeff, or Muffet? Those five coaches consistently develop their teams to play on the final weekend.

So if you're Evina, Mimi, Rennia, or Zaay do you stay knowing Coach Harper's track record or do you play for a coach where you can achieve all of your goals and aspirations? These young women need to make the choices that are best for their futures as basketball players. It's disappointing for the fans when players transfer, but at the end of the day it's all about their desires, not ours.

I for one look forward to this culture change! Yes Harpers Lady Vols may not look like Holly's Lady Vols we may resemble Mizzou St. and that will be fine! If they play hard and are disciplined and structured and put fundamentals and team play 1st. I will enjoy watching and supporting!

That's all fine and dandy, except these girls were foolish enough to come play for Holly...so it seems strange that all of a sudden they developed standards. Evina...I can see why she transferred. As far as I can tell, Mimi wanted to play for Holly, so that's why she's leaving. It would have been nice if she stuck around, but I'd rather see both her and Holly gone then have another disappointing season with Holly as HC and a bunch of underperforming HS stars that she routinely throws under the bus. Oh well.

According to this mindset, why did they come to Tennessee in the first place knowing our former coach's track record of not reaching the Final Four or winning a National Championship?

She’s from Maryland...I smell a Brenda Frese transfer tampering.

She’s a great player - just needed some coaching. Hopefully, she’s the last transfer, but I worry about Zaay Green.
Wouldn’t be surprised, especially since we played in the tournament at College Park. Being from DC I know exactly how she (Freese operates) and I wouldn’t put it past Freese to contact her/her family the moment we lost to UCLA

Did they all the sudden develop standards or all the sudden “Oh s__t this new Coach gonna make us work our butts off and actually earn playing time”

Not a surprise to me had heard she was one transferring even before Westbrook was known. I did think she had changed her mind guess not best of luck to her. The last player to keep an eye on is Green and that should come rather quickly next couple of weeks if it is going to happen.

MO State and those caliber of players will get you last place in the SEC.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
It's a long time til "basketball time", lots of things can and will happen. People go and people come. I will say this, if those leaving were "Holly's girls", well maybe we will be better off without them. That is harsh I know, but "Holly's way" with "Holly's girls" was not working. Those women left will now see a different way. Hope they flourish. For those leaving, I hope they find a home that they can be successful in. I guess they and/or the new staff feel they just won't fit. OK it's a new day, lets watch the sun rise, not worry about the storm of last night. GO HARD LADY'S

Wrong! The SEC is full of teams with high athletic but low b-ball IQ teams! In this league a team loaded with high IQ and strong fundamentals will be very successful! Structure and fundamentals will always prevail in the women’s game! Of course that means great shooters!

Well I said it before these kids knew coming in that they were not going to be challenged in practices or in games under Holly. They knew it and that was actually a big appeal to them. Free reign! No hard work no discipline and no structure. 4 easy years! New Coach now who demands all of these things so expect 1-2 more to leave. Tear down to rebuild.
Pat is rolling over in her grave. A coach that does this is doing their players a huge disservice

Depends on why they came to Tennessee to start with. I mean, watching Mimi Collins play didn't give me any reason to think that she didn't want to play hard. Her and Burrell were the two players on the team that played hard on every possession. I don't think Mimi was afraid of hard work; I think she just wanted to play for Holly for some reason, and Kellie was unable to change her mind.
