If I were him I wouldn’t have been dumb enough to run that mouth knowing that defense was on the schedule and it was here.

If I were dumb enough to run that mouth, I absolutely would play, even if hurt, if I was able. He looks like much more of a punk ducking out then if he played and got beaten, imo. At least he would have showed up to back it up. The dude was never going to play this game. We know who he is. I “tests positive for cannabis” before going back to Gainesville, now “injury” before coming back here. I see a pattern.

Sad to see him injured as would like to have seen the vols win with him on the field.
He may have run his mouth but he gave his blood and sweat for the vols the past 2 years. Played injured several times. After his playing career at Kentucky ends wish nothing but the best for him.

Not sure he's a coward, though that thought crossed my mind too. Fact is, we're playing a UK team that is a platoon of the walking wounded. I'd be amazed if Stoops can field a full team, or if the game doesn't get stopped due to the mercy rule.

The Vols have been blessed with as few on the injury list as they have. Weaver being out will be a blessing to Heard. If Walker is limited that will be a big advantage Vols also. Pili is the only major hit the Vols have, Spillman is a pretty big hit but Telander has been playing well. The 3 WRs are warriors for battling through their injuries.

He always seems to have substance abuse issues when his former team comes to town.

Was “suspended” for Florida in his time here for violation of team rules (smoking dope).

We wanted to keep him to play at RT this year. He wanted to play at LT, decided to explore his value in the portal and we moved on.

I think the more likely scenario is that he wasn't getting the playing time he thought he deserved, having started only 6 games last year after starting in 7 of 9 games in 2022.

According to reports coming out of Lexington, Mr. Mincey (father of Gerald) is being charged for cruelty to animals for hiding 3 unknown furry animals on his head. Stay tuned to Animal Planet for updates

Meanwhile, The University of Kentucky Athletic Department has confirmed that it has been unsuccessful in procuring a helmet for Gerald Mincey due to the 16.4 lbs of dreads on the top of his head.

I did see a quote from him, I think from this past offseason, where he said he had played hurt the entire year and it was directed solely at the fans.
