Having seen where NIU football came from and the level that Kill had them playing I think Minnesota made a solid choice.

When I taught there in the 90s they had the nation's longest losing streak stretching over 3 years. Novack resurrected the program but Kill kept it going and improved it.

this also explains why NIU might have not been focused for the MAC championship game - they should have destroyed Miami

Jerry Kill may not be a sexy name, but he is a fine football coach who has won everywhere he has been.
