Eating taco soup and watching baseball and football and talking for an hour with a good friend going thru a tough divorce. Makes you appreciate the things and family God has blessed you with. Family and Tennessee football. Will be heading to Knoxville for the big game. Will go to Raising Canes and then head to the stadium. Only missed one game the last decade, UTC this year and not missing this one. Go Vols.

Going to install my new, stronger OTA antenna tomorrow morning. Being without power and internet for 8 days after Helene made me realize I need better coverage, especially on VHF channels. Then kick back and watch the game in true 1080i. Cable/streaming just doesn’t cut it when it comes to Tennessee orange. Plus there isn’t the 5-10 second delay in transmission, so I’ll be watching the game in essentially real time.

Took the radio antenna out of the closet and bent it back to straight-ish to pick up the game tomorrow.

I probably should either get another clothes hanger, or give that shirt to Goodwill.

Edit: Just looked in the mirror ...I better keep wearing the shirt.

Unfortunately, I will not be there this year. I was there in 2022, and it was a day I'll never forget. My wife and youngest child are sick, so I'll be staying home with them.

Last weekend, we had our sunday school class over for chili, hot dogs, and s'mores for the UF game. So it'll be nice to just relax on the couch and watch this week.

Also, it's hard to top Neyland at night..... but I'm a bit glad I don't have to wait all day to watch the game.

Just got home from a urologist appointment in Indianapols...yeah staring at 2 stone surgeries in January sometime...getting old sucks.

Wife and I stopped and grabbed a couple burgers and just going to chill tonight.

Going to do breakfast during game tommorrow with biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, last of our garden tomatoes...I always do it once a season for either a Noon game or 330. Couldn't think of a better one to pick...GO VOLS !!!!
I've had plenty of issues with stones, but have somehow managed to avoid surgery. I'll be thinking about you and praying for successful surgeries. In my opinion, stones should only happen to child predators and terrorists. Getting old is definitely not for sissies. GBO!

going to try and harvest a doe for meat in the AM then smoke a chuck roast for the game

It’s a good weekend for it. Going to try to get a doe on Sunday. Son is coming back home from UT for the day on Sunday just to hunt with me, been a couple years since we have been able to do it together.

Tomorrow, making the drive early and spending some time with him on campus and then heading to the game. As time goes on, the more involved he gets with things down there and with friends and life, I’ve started realizing I’m seeing less and less of him. It’s bittersweet - proud as heck of him and his journey into manhood, but I’d be a liar if I didn’t say I miss the time when it was me and him attached at the hip. But this university and our lifelong love of it and its sports is still our common bond.

Caught the band Donna the Buffalo at The Harvester in Rocky Mount with great friends tonight. Great band! Heading to Explore Park in Roanoke tomorrow to watch crazy dogs, listen to my buds band and have a tasty beverage or two at Twin Creeks Brewery. Gonna be good and ready to watch the Vols deliver a beatdown on the tide. Lower case on purpose. Go Vols!!!!!!!

It's been a helluva long week, so this night is mine. Playing a PC game called Space Marine 2 while I ignore a cat who's trying to convince me that 14 pounds isn't a healthy weight.

Is it enough to distract me until kickoff? I don't know. Let's find out.

I was in a Prague hostel on my iPad watching the game in 2022 and ran around freaking out after we won. But regretted with all my heart not being there for it watching everyone storm the field. I tried to tell everyone there before the game how important and unmatched our environment our college football was but they didn’t understand until I ran into common area showing them the field storming seen. They were fascinated to say the least.

No regrets this time, I just flew into Nashville and driving to game early AM to scream my lungs out for the big orange.

My first post as a member btw, graduated 2005 and from the area born and raised. Left in 2008 and travelled all 7 continents and been all over world BUT nothing is as amazing as our football Saturdays man.

Good to meet ya’ll.
