Miss State copying the VOLS

If I remember right, OU copied Iowa on striping the stadium. I believe that Stoops brought it with him from Iowa when he was a assistant coach there.

Here is another copy:

Iowa copied Florida's fan chant where they use the "gator jaws" as the band plays.

Apparently, everyone copies everyone.

It's built into the brick work on Ayers Hall on The Hill. So just a tribute to the history of campus I guess you could say.

You'll see it below the clock on the bell tower.

It originally was because before they added the other upper deck to neyland you could see the checkerboards from the endzone so they used to say "run to the checkerboards". At least that is a story I have been told, don't hold me too it but it seems accurate.

In an effort to improve the classy-ness, you will from now on refer to the end zones as chess boards.

I was at the game yesterday and I'd honestly be embarrassed to be an MSU fan and can't believe they brag about their home field 'advantage.' Granted the game was at 11 and against LTU.

I've been to funerals and MTSU games that are louder.

FL and Bama share the same fight jingle too if I'm not mistaken.

1. Did Ky ever actually checkerboard their end zones?

2. Several teams are striping their stadiums....and remember that we got the idea to checkerboard our stadium after Oklahoma striped their stadium in our game with them last year

I've been thinking about Checker Neyland ever since doing it in Thompson--Boling in 2006.

I would also add that checkering in 102k seat stadium is a much greater feat than simple stripes (And OU'S seats are already striped making it even easier.)
